Christmas Tree 4856
CT man. Are you seriously suggesting that temperatures aren't being taken behind closed doors, in lobbies, committee rooms, bars and our diplomats aren't blowing their entertainment budgets? No, I've been suggesting thats what would happen since June. However those temperatures are not at such an advanced level that May could possibly know what interim deal the EU and UK will enter into. (As Gloom and his FT mate suggest).

She's prematurely announcing when article 50 is to be triggered for no gain?
Dr Gloom 22187
oh dear, CT meanwhile the IMF cuts the UK economic forecast for second time since Brexit vote. the bi-assed news just keeps on trucking.
Christmas Tree 4856
Isn't that the point? She's prematurely announcing when article 50 is to be triggered for no gain? The whole world has been demanding to know since June. She's put them off so we could get organised. She's now said we'll be ready by the end of March. She could have put it off even longer IF our EU friends had been willing to enter into meaningful pre negotiation.

Regardless, for me it wasn't even the most important point of the piece, which was, imo, how politics will trump economics for both sides. Which will be much worse for us than the rest of the EU. You ignored nearly all of the article.

Jesus wept really hard You've missed off how they've upgraded this years forecast for the UK making us the best performing economy in the G7. I'm sure it just slipped your mind We'll just skip over there admission that their forecasts of a U.K. recession were "overly pessimistic". You're definitely not biased though

Meenzer 15740
I wonder what the outcome would have been if the ballot paper question had read "Do you want to make the UK economy smaller but whiter?". Probably about the same tbh.

Renton 22016
No, we'll get free access and control our borders. There are literally no grounds to believe this. You seriously believe all 27 member states are going to agree to the UK having it's cake and eating it, to the detriment of all said states?
