The government pursued peace after the IRA bombed the financial district of London. As well as Manchester. It was about money, not lives, because that's what ultimately matters to the UK government. Or used to, anyway.

I think we are very close to the tipping point now where both sides will have to start spending serious money to mitigate no deal. Once this happens, all good will is lost and our destination is sealed. Business will leave in droves. More than odds on for no deal now imo.

Exactly. The UK said it would veto any EU army so we wouldn't have had to sign up for it. Now watch them do it and when we go crawling back to them in five years time we'll have to sign up too.

Cheers, CT.

A good idea tbh. Federalise while we're outside the EU and get all of that shit out of the way, and then permit our re-entry a few years later as a new state in the union. Makes me think the whole debacle might be planned tbh.

The Leave campaign promised £350m a week for the NHS. What they didn’t explain is that all the money would need to be spent on post-mortems and mass graves. Soon, when there’s no insulin in the UK, ice cream vans are going to be looked upon with the same hatred and fear as a Gestapo staff car. Then we’ll discover that, through a series of shell companies, Jacob Rees-Mogg owns Europe’s largest insulin mines and he stands to make 10 billion Krugerrand from the crisis.

Rees-Mogg isn’t even the grimmest figure in the Brexit bestiary, a title that surely belongs to Dr Liam Fox. A doctor who now selflessly dedicates his life to ending those of others. Maybe, Liam Fox’s interests in “defence” and weaponry are a testimony to the strain of being a GP. Perhaps, it only takes a year or two of strangers lowering their pants in front of you before you dedicate your life to the destruction of the human form.
