It was about money, not lives, because that's what ultimately matters to the UK government. Or used to, anyway. I think we are very close to the tipping point now where both sides will have to start spending serious money to mitigate no deal. Once this happens, all good will is lost and our destination is sealed. Business will leave in droves. More than odds on for no deal now imo.
