SpaceCadet 5
Rules and regulations and the ECJ are not my biggest gripe, my issue is with centralised power. I said this from the beginning. Expand So, you cant think of a single example of a law or treaty that disbenefits you then? Would you agree that it is an inarguable fact we live in globalised world, like it or not? And in such a world, we need laws and treaties that span nation states? Well in fact that's all the ECJ is. WTO is another much less democratic example. Using your logic of localism, why stop at sovereignty at UK level or English level? Perhaps the NE should be independent. Why not Newcastle? Why not Tynemouth? What about my street, house, or even me? Sounds silly right? Actually, the world has always advanced by uniting, the EU is the latest example. Being in a mutually beneficial union makes us powerful. You can be proud to be Northumbrian, English, British, AND European all at the same time, they're not mutually exclusive concepts.
