Exactly. The Remain side were so complacent they didn't bother asking these pertinent questions. Still, it's hard to sympathise with people who trust Boris Johnson, Nigel Farage or The Sun to tell them the truth.

 Honestly you've got a fucking cheek.

This was you a few months back, pretty much unsure what to do yourself along with me and HF.

Plenty on here can point to their pretty long held views, but you riding into town like some superior font of all knowing knowledge.

I honestly can't remember which you want. Can you not remind me for clarity?

Free trade. Migration was never a big issue. I liked the idea of better border control (security) and basing immigration on the needs of the country seems sensible.

Now that we are out, we should decide what we want as country rather than get caught up in what we've got and what they are currently offering.

IE Tarrifs are historically pretty low so we should bear that in mind while negotiating.

I was making the point that no one who voted to leave knew what they were getting. However, I think it's also perfectly valid to point out that someone basically wanting things to remain very similar to how they were before the vote is making an illogical decision to vote to leave. Also, that was several months ago, wasn't it, CT? Not sure what your point it. I also fail to see how I'm portraying myself as a font of all knowing knowledge. I'm not at all. By the time the vote came around I was firmly in the Remain camp because there was far too much uncertainty around leaving the EU and I thought the real scare tactics were coming from that side too. It was also the side of the racists and that became clear too, especially with the Farage poster. That's not inferring you're a racist, CT. To be fair to you, I don't think you're prejudiced at all (well, everybody is to an extent, but you take my point). One of the reasons I was sceptical about both sides is because I don't think either makes the real problems of Neo Liberalism, establishment elitism or awful levels of inequality go away. But I do think leaving the EU could make those things even worse.

Which has now been shown to be unrealistic. You probably aren't going to get what you think you voted for. Sinking in yet?

Btw, all the people who want a similar immigration policy to Australia's - why not just fuck off over there? Oh yes, that's because they wouldn't have you.

Btw, as the FTSE 100 is currently heading towards last Thursday's levels, I wonder if we'll have the same media coverage about billions being added to the market?

sterling climbed this morning to a whopping $1.3390, still down 10 per cent from its pre brexit peak on thursday night. that's a lot of money wiped off the UK economy

we discussed already that the more domestically focused FTSE 250 is a batter reflection of what is happenign in the UK economy than the blue chip FTSE 100. the FTSE 250 us up 1 per cent but its post brexit losses are at 9.3 per cent.

bank stocks have picked up a bit today but they're still nursing heavy losses - with rbs down 28.5 per cent since the vote.

and anyway - the big adjustments rarely happen in a straight line. if black wednesday is a guide, and many think it is, don't expect the lows to kick in for a few months yet.

looks like a bounce of the dead cat variety.

Apparently 1000 jobs are going to go as Visa move out of London as they need to be in the EU. Is anyone keeping track of how many jobs this is costing yet? That must be about 5000 confirmed already that we know about, and it's been a matter of days.

Looks like Vodafone are off too. That's another 13,000 jobs. Fuck knows what's going to happen to Tata steel and Nissan, no irony lost given those areas voted massively in favour of Brexit

That Anna Eagle's a dim, sullen, pasty faced bitch if ever I saw one - not going to inspire anyone.

That Crabb's a God bothering homophobic cunt as well.

Happy days.

i don't know how many of you have FT subscriptions but fucking hell, the genius of the year award goes has to go to "Steve", the Nissan employee in Sunderland, interviewed for in a recent FT piece.

Nissan is vital to the local economy yet 60 per cent of people voted leave - as did Steve. He says he voted Leave because he wanted "Britain to be Britain again." Now rumours are circulating that Nissan could scale back its investment. Steve says if that happens hopefully "the government" will "put some money into Nissan".

Actually, this might help save Europe. If 10,000s of jobs leave the UK and go to Europe, their unemployment will go down. We'll be fucked, but we'll have no one to blame but ourselves.

Most of the bell ends like Steve from Nissan voted out thinking the Brexit will fix issues that are not related to the EU but to our inept governments. I watched a thing on Brexit on Saturday and it went to North Tyneside fish market that had a massive sign on it 'Part funded by the EU' well enjoy that going into disrepair you fucking idiots. Enjoy the fish stocks fucking off because you dicks over fishing and then what do you have?

Wrapping up his speech launching his Conservative leadership bid, Stephen Crabb explains that his "overriding goal" is to ensure that his "One Nation vision" should become the "beating heart" of the next Conservative government.

Basically they wanted to vote to leave but they didn't want to actually leave. That's partly why referendum's are a dangerous thing. I think there was a big protest vote over an issue too big to be fucking about with. Hard to feel sorry for people like that though. Nissan even told them beforehand which vote was the best to secure their jobs. It was made out amongst the Leave campaign as being extremely patronising but what the for were Nissan supposed to do? They were giving their employees the best available info. Who's fault is it that they chose to ignore it?
