Believe in Britain.

What a fucking place this is.

I know it's not related, or at least I hope it isn't, but you're fucking right with this. The last few weeks have made me increasingly ashamed to be British.

Horrible news.

Probably not the time, but I increasingly hate what our country has become and is moving towards since the last 8 years or so. If I was younger and family free maybe I'd be looking to get out, but fuck knows where, things are turning to shit everywhere.

That's true - I'd been starting to think about leaving the UK in the event of Brexit, but options are thin on the ground as Europe suddenly becomes out of bounds. You're right about things going to the dogs in other countries as well, not even Canada is the liberal state it once was.

Jesus wept at you two btw.

Sorry I don't live in your Bolton bubble CT but for some of us it's obvious we're living in a much more dysfunctional society than we were a few years ago. Being at the verge of Brexit proves it. Trump proves it. The reaction to those shootings prove it. This society shows more inequalities than ever before which the right wing have manipulated to their own ends perfectly.

On a personal level this government has done my immediate and extended family absolutely no favours either. I think that's true for the large majority of people. I fear it'll get much worse, we'll see. Oh and plus, the weather has been absolutely shit for years now too. :finger:

We can agree on the weather.

Brendan Cox's tribute to his wife is powerful and compassionate.

I always thought this was a tolerant country. This referendum has exposed a disturbing level of hate.

Farage taking his Enoch Powell impersonation to new low campaigning with the headline of breaking point on a poster behind him, featuring a picture of refugees fleeing Syria

I was gonna post something about stirring up rage at any cost and the inferred finality of this decision and how disgraceful the leave campaign has been and then I read this and it saves me the bother.

Interesting article. I looked up Farage's latest poster after reading it. Disgusting. If vile propaganda like this works then I'm certainly not retracting my assertion we are becoming a debased, dystopian society.
