Dr Gloom 21868
I wouldn't be sad to see him walk. He's unplayable on his day but he only turns up for a couple of matches a season
Andrew 4723
Heard that he wants a pay rise to 100k a week. Contract talks going on. I dunno what he's done to warrant that mind. The Norwich game? One game? Really? 100k? Fuck off. He wants to leave. We should let him go in January, hes nowhere near as good as he thinks he is and hes got a shit attitude. Let him go to whoever offers the most for him, it sure as shit won't be one of these champions league clubs he thinks he should be at and even were it one of those clubs he'd be on the bench in no time and moving on a year or two later exactly like Cabaye did...except he isn't as good as Cabaye
PaddockLad 17159
My mate has said since the middle of last season that if we get offered 20 million we should take their stupid hands off. Thing is cant see anyone offering that sort of maoney.

Thing is cant see anyone offering that sort of maoney. Theres a lot of money knocking about at the moment though, 20 million isn't what it was. Couple of French teams could manage it, a fair few spanish, plenty of italian clubs looking to push themselves on, Inter/Milan maybe? None of the PL teams will bother, they've seen him enough to know hes got fuck all consistency and he wouldn't improve them.
toonotl 2975
Yeah. I could see the likes of PSG, or whoever, paying £20m for him without blinking. It would be brilliant money for him too, because like everyone else has said, he's not even close to as good as he thinks he is. To put it in perspective, he's not even our best player, and, on the whole, we're shit. That says all you need to know about his actual, versus his self-perceived, ability. TheGingerQuiff 2412
Speaks volumes that Cabaye puts shift after shift in at a little club like Palace too. But. ya kno, being ancient he was unsignable.

He only kept his place due to complete lack of options.
The Fish 10817
It's weird because the french journalists say that the reason Sissoko gets in the France squad is his willingness to "do a job" for their manager. Putting him in the Milner mould of professional. Yet Milner has carried that professionalism through every club he's played for, never shirking responsibility or avoiding graft. David Kelly 1224
He'd be the first person I got rid of from the team. His attitude is fucking awful which makes 90% of his performances the same. How he gets away with putting in three good performances a season is beyond me. David Kelly 1224
Stark absence of competition? To an extent you're right but I would given Aarons a go earlier in the season and Thauvin laterly. Obviously Tiote and Colback being injured at the moment makes it very difficult to drop him at the now.

David Kelly 1224
Aarons wasn't fit, was he? And Thauvin has hardly been pushing him hard for the place in the starting line-up.Aarons was fit at the start of the season. He came on as sub a few time and in preseason he'd looked sharper than anyone since he'd started his preseason earlier than everyone else. Thauvin had a couple of awful games (apparently, I missed them myself) after a bright start (he did well agains, Manure, Northampton and Arsenal) and has barely had a chance since. I wouldn't say he had a good game when he came on against Leicester but personally I thought he at least looked like he was trying to get at them which is a damn sight better than what Sissoko has managed in pretty much every game other than Norwich. The point for me is that we know Sissoko doesn't bother himself in all but a few games a season so why should we just allow him to sleepwalk through the rest of them. He has to be shown that if he doesn't put it in he will be dropped regardless of who is available to replace him. Because most of the time me or you could go out and do just as much as he does. ohhh_yeah 2956
Moussa Sissoko is a very, very likeable player when he plays well but he usually does that when the Newcastle United team as a whole are in form. When the side are struggling Sissoko tends to disappear and you dont see him much. He doesnt carry the team and probably doesnt know how to do that. Hes not a leader; hes a helper. If the teams doing well then he will create things and make them better because he is a confidence man. But, at the minute, the confidence is low for everyone so he tends to shy away. When Newcastle play well Sissoko is at the forefront of that take Norwich City for example but when the Magpies are struggling then the French midfielder tends to be in the shadows a little bit. Is Sissoko an important player for Newcastle going forward? Definitely. Is he a leader? Probably not. I dont think he will claim that he is a leader but that he is a hard-working player. Personally, I still think Sissoko has a big part to play for Newcastle especially this season. Everything he does when he is on form, he does it right and he frightens opposition defences. Unfortunately though, when things are not going right at United his level dips completely and his head drops a bit. Thats very unusual for an international player, but thats what seems to happen. I still think he has a lot to offer Newcastle though, he just isnt a leader. Players need to be brought in during the January window to inspire United, then Sissoko will hopefully flourish. ::Olivier Bernard::
The Fish 10817
Did giving him the captain's armband get a reaction? I don't think he did much and was largely anonymous, bar the goal. I'd, maybe give 6/10, but a few media ratings have him significantly higher. Did I miss something?
David Kelly 1224
He was maybe slightly better. Whether that was down to him being captain or playing more centrally I don't know but I certainly wouldn't be raving about his performance.
