Any kind of win will do here. Three points absolutely essential. I'm tempted not to watch it. Sure I'm a jinx. Feels like we've lost practically every game I've watched this season. If I follow the chat thread instead we might have a better chance

Unfortunately you're not alone there. And I've watched every match this season!

I see it as a nailed on draw.

It's a big risk throwing in all of the new lads at once. Sissoko would be the logical starter as that central midfield area is where we're probably weakest.

The last time we dropped Williamson, we conceded 7. Although I'm sure some of you will find a way to blame him for that too.

That's because Willo > Perch. Your reasoning provokes me.

(Apparantly todays starting line-up)

Krul

Debuchy

Colo

Saylor

Santon

Perch

Sissoko

Cabaye

Marveux

Gouffran

Cisse

Why? Any reason for that? "we need a good tackle"? Idiot...

Would you prefer to see us throw the lot of them in and hope for the best? It's an incredibly risky strategy. At least Williamson and Coloccini have played together and have an understanding.

Once Sissoko's got himself settled in midfield, we can introduce Mwiba.

Gouffran would probably need less time and could potentially start tonight.

Puts them in and we lose, everyone will whine they weren't ready. Don't put them in from the start and lose, everyone will slate him. Poor bloke can't win really (only if we actually win tonight). I'd be happy to see Sissoko and Gouffran come in from the start, although I read somewhere just now that Mbiwa was going to start too, straight swap for Williamson.

I reckon a new lease of life in our squad will spur us on to a 3-1 victory with Gouffran scoring first and Sissoko getting on the scoresheet too.

He's said Sissoko will start and I don't think that's any surprise given how excited they are to have him and how weak we've looked there at times.

Williamson has to come out of the team as he's been dreadful but it wouldn't surprise me at all to see Taylor played instead of Mbiwa. Pardew gives himself a selection headache there though if the defense does well. How does he then drop Taylor without pissing him right off.

Gouffran I think he has to play because Shola is obviously fucking wank and doesn't fit into a 4-3-3.

The only other decisions he has to make are whether or not to play Jonas or Marveaux (I suspect he'll play Marveaux given how he's been bigging him up lately) and Anita or Perch & I wouldn't be surprised to see him go with Perch to make us more solid if he's going to play Marveaux. I don't think that's an unreasonable thing to do away from home if you've got three all out attacking players and Cabaye looking to play forward of the other two midfielders. I know Villa are shit but I think winning the battle in midfield and getting the ball to the attackers is what will win us the game.

We really could do with a french football expert on here. The fact is we've heard about these players, but other than Chez, not one of us has seen the likes of M'Biwa in depth. I'm excited because it's the complete unknown. It's not like signing Steven Carr or Nicky Butt.

I watch loads of Ligue 1 Stevie and if you've read some of my recent posts you'd see how highly I rate Yanga-Mbiwa. He has the potential to be our best centre half ever.

I suppose we've had the same thing with Tiote and Cabaye and even Ben Arfa to an extent but I can't remember another time when we've had four players all come in at once that we have next to no first hand knowledge of. If they (particularly Sissoko and Mbiwa) are as good as we're told then it shoudl be very exciting.

Well I hope you're even half right Jonny. Better than a fit Woody?

He has the potential to be that.

He's excellent on the ball but he's also a beast physically too. He's really quick, strong, good in the tackle and has an excellent leap on him too. In the thread I mentioned I didn't think we stood a chance of buying him as I thought that some of the elite clubs would be in for him.
