Looks can be deceiving. Remember amdy faye. Big, black, athletic but fucking useless.

Let's not get carried away until we see what all the new signings are like in the premier league.

4 black French players, possibly Muslim; presses all your fascist fuckwit buttons doesn't it?

you filthy EDL loving cunt; get away from my club

No, I'm being realistic.

I'd bet very few people on here have any clue what these players are like and nobody knows how they'll adapt to the English game. I've seen too many players over the years who've failed to live up to expectations to get carried away, like many on here at the moment.

It's realistic to suggest that because Amdy Faye was an athletic black man, all of our new signings who are of the same skin colour might also be shite?

Wouldn't it be simpler to say - we've signed many shit players over the years, these new players might also be shite?

Mike Williamson isn't good enough, should we not sign anymore tall white players then?

No, but if you look at this and other threads it was a case of french-check, black-check, athletic-check etc. Which is the profile of the players we've been signing for a number of reasons People seem to be jumping to conclusions that they'll all be Patrick Vieras and I'm pointing out that that is not the case. As past experience has shown.

I'm well aware that Williamson is not good enough at all.

Really? Can only think of Xisco and Luque as the really bad ones.

Really?

I can think of fucking loads! Mind I might be a bit older than you?

How far do you want to go back? Dennis Laughton, Mike Larnach, Alex Bruce, Paul Sweeney, Archie Gourlay, Malcolm Brown, John Ryan, Billy Whitehurst, George Reilly, Ray Clarke, Bobby Shinton, Ian Davies, Roy Aitken, Glenn Keeley - all white; all shite

Oh well if we're talking that far back then I don't see how that has any relevance. Tbh even Xisco and Luque aren't relevant, as Graham Carr has completely changed the way we scout players.

I never said that.I hope they are all hugely successful and we start turning over the likes on manu.

I'm just inclined to wait and see rather than jump on a bandwagon when nobody has the faintest idea what these players are like.

I think people are just happy we're actually signing players.

I am, for one. Like many on here I'm no aficionado on French football but I've heard no bad reports about the players we've signed so the additional choices available to the manager can only be good in my book.

Looking at it optimistically, if half the players we sign in this window turn out to be first team quality then it has been reasonable money very well spent.

Personally I'm delighted with Debuchy, Mbiwa and Sissoko (if the latter signs), I'm pleased with the noises coming out of people who are clued up on French Football about the others as well. However, I temper my enthusiasm because Luque came with fanfares, as did Gavilan and Pistone.

Haidara and Gouffran could be great, average or hypercrap, but I've faith in Carr to find the right men. If they do turn out to be poor acquisitions I'd still look back on this window and feel we came out on top.

Rozenhal, Nacho Gonzalez, Smith, Pattison for some other white plums from recent years, besides the aforementioned Xisco and Luque.

add to that Pistone, Bassedas, Cordone, Dumas, Moore, Charvet, Ireland, ALAN FUCKING SMITH, Dan Gosling, Karelse?
