If Colo goes

This may seem a bit of a surprise but I'd actually go for this man.

At times this season he's been leading by example on the pitch and when a lot of our other players have hid he stood up to be counted. Yes he might not be the loudest of personalities on the pitch but it worked for Beckham.

If not Ben Arfa then I'd give it to Cabaye. He has past experience of being a captain at Lille and is quite a determined character even if he can be petulant at times. (No different to Colo in that regard though)

Also if anybody pipes up and mentions Taylor then I will actually despair.

must fancy his chances...

i'd give it tiote, in an attempt to reduce his yellow and red card quota. jonas will probably get it, given he's deputy.

which means Jonas have to play, something he's shit at... :(

No it doesn't. Alan Smith wasn't a regular when he was our club captain.

J, seriously it's not worth the energy it takes to respond to certain posters on here atm.

Some people know the difference between a decent footballer having a bad spell and others just hurl their shit in the general direction of where they think it might stick.

Ben Arfa is one of the best attacking talents in the league but a captain he is not given his temperament.

Pards will give it to Saylor or Shola.

He's never shown any issues with his temperament whilst with us though. Seems to have really settled down and matured.

Jonas is the vice and I wouldn't mind him getting it either to be honest. Outside bet would be S.Taylor for next season though, very passionate and knows what it means to wear the shirt.

I guarantee most people who sit near me would give it to 'Stevie T' therefore it's the last thing we should do. Leadership has nothing to do with shouting "c'mon lads" and pointing occasionally at a random, unspecified area.

My first reaction would be Cabaye given his experience and position but I quite like your Ben Arfa argument. He could, in theory, lead the team in the sense of driving the rest on by example. Ronaldo does it, Maradona did it and neither of them seem like obvious choices on the face of it. Also when has Ben Arfa's attitude been questioned when playing for us? I think it's too easy an argument to make and its not accurate imo.
