While I can in no way endorse everything Parky has said about Germany and the Germans based on my time there, fuck me he's hit the nail right on the head with some of it to such an extent that I'm about to memorise some of the lines for my next trip.

You know me mate. Always speak my mind.

If his wife is ill then it's pretty bad behaviour from San Lorenzo to try and exploit this through the public eyes.

Spot on.

Should get the club's permission to do as he wishes if his wife is badly ill to be honest. Family takes precedence over football. He's a professional but he won't be at his best if he's playing with that weighing on his mind.

Newcastle to retain Fabricio Coloccini as captain as Alan Pardew seeks to help player battle homesickness

Fabricio Coloccini will remain Newcastle United captain as manager Alan Pardew looks to find a way to help resolve the personal problems that have caused the defender to become unsettled.

Coloccini has made his unhappiness clear in recent weeks and his father revealed last week that his son was keen to go back home to Argentina, with former club San Lorenzo keen to sign him. The centre-back has confirmed he is tempted to return to his homeland, but has not asked for a transfer.

At the heart of the issue has been the poor health of Coloccini’s wife, who has already returned to South America, leaving him with their two children at the family home on Tyneside.

Pardew is hoping the imminent return on Coloccini’s wife will help ease the pressure and allow the defender to remain at Newcastle, at least until the end of the season.

The 30 year-old, who signed from Spain’s Deportivo La Coruna in 2008, will start against Norwich this weekend and will then meet to discuss his future with Pardew and managing director Derek Llambias next week.

Even if Coloccini cannot be dissuaded from seeking a move, Newcastle will point out San Lorenzo do not have the money to sign him and, as he only signed a 4½-year contract in March, the club have shown him loyalty in the past. That should ensure he stays until the end of May and Coloccini has already held productive talks with Pardew.

San Lorenzo may well want to sign a player who was voted into the PFA Team of the Year last season, but they also recognise they do not have the means to make a credible offer to buy him.

That could lead to a loan attempt, although given Coloccini earns £60,000 a week, it is unlikely to appeal to Newcastle, who would almost certainly have to continue paying a large percentage of it and find a replacement.

Newcastle only have three specialist centre-backs in the first team squad and one of them, Steven Taylor, has been missing for six weeks with a hamstring injury. Pardew is hoping to sign another in this transfer window.

GoIng home makes it sound like a pretty bad illness. Objectively I can't imagine that healthcare in Argentina is anywhere near the standard that it is in England.

I doubt she'll be in the charity wards. Some of the richest people in the world live there - Aristotle Onassis made his first stack in Argentina.

Anyway the British helath service is crumbling away.

Fucked if I can comment on the rights/wrongs of Collocini without knowing why.

What I do know is that him leaving us should not paralyse and doom us in the way it certainly would do if the cunts could run a club properly. Every time we're begging for a position to be strengthened we lose someone we've already got!

Parky is the best poster on this board when he's pissed and talking about non football topics.

I've been to Germany twice, and what Kevin Carr's Gloves was on about saying it's beautiful, it suggests to me he's never been. I will say this once you get past Munich (which in itself is nice) it's fucking beautiful, the only reason for that is you're coming in to Austria! I've encountered Germans in Germany, and German football fans in England, Belgium and Holland. They're all cunts. The most poorly dressed, rude, mulletted twats I've ever had the misfortune of seeing. You get the impression they feel superior to us as well! They had fuckin mulletts and moustaches 15 year even after scousers ditched theirs! Cunts. Rude insular twats.

I've considered going to Germany for a Bundesliga game just for a change, but it's impressing me less and less, whereas with your average Joe it's impressing them more and more. See a club like Dortmund, fair enough there's 80000 there and they make a noise. Every song they sing, EVERY SONG, is regimented, not like English football, when it is a good atmosphere, it's untouchable by these divvies because it's genuinely passionate and completely spontaneous. Who gives a fuck if it's £3 to get in as well. A club like say Schalke as well, which is in the trampiest part of Germany, there's about 25 million people live within 50 miles of each other, places like Cologne, Dusseldorf, Gelsenkirchen, Dortmund, Bochum, Moenchengladbach etc... it's all the old mining and industrial towns and cities in Germany. You'd think they would be funny, interesting, different, which to be fair I think geordies and even scousers are. When I was in Cologne, I can honestly say they were the least friendly people I've ever encountered. Robotic arseholes. See Schalke as well, along with Dortmund recognised as one of the most passionate supports in Europe, see when the teams are announced, how pathetic is it, the tannoy bloke will go "Klass-Yannnnnn" and the 60000 strong support will go "HOOOOOOOOONTOOOOOLAHHHH!" fuckin pipe down you German divvies, their supporters are as boring as Arsenal's, in fact that's what they are, orchestrated versions of Arsenal's support on mild amphetamine. Parky is right, they've got the blood of 20m people on their hands. The cunts.

Lived there for 3 years

Stockholm syndrome.

Regardless of the number of rich people there I still doubt they would have the quality of specialists that would be available in the UK (and nearby elsewhere in Europe). I could be completely wrong, as I'm not basing that on anything more than basic knowledge.

I was responding to Dr Kimble with that part, but was too lazy to make that clear.

The Germans would no doubt have some very clinical medical professionals.

Why do you just make things up in your mind when you have no idea what so ever.

Why are you such a negative cheeky mug? I must be getting you mixed up with someone else because Bielefeld stuck in my mind for some reason.

Not like you to stereotype entire nations Stevie ;)

Back on topic though, not sure I buy the official story about his wife's illness. Also seems odd she's ditched the kids and moved back home.

The whole family were in Hana Hana on Thursday.
