Tooj 17
Ranger brings in £20'000 a week. Pardew brings in less than £10k. Moyes earns £3m a year. Ranger's on 3k a week.
Tom 14013
Missed out Shearer? Doubt I've ever known someone as contrary and fickle as CT. I'd search for quotes but we all know CT's opinion on Pardew as little as 6 months ago.

Tom 14013
Ranger's on 3k a week. I've heard a completely different story from pretty much everyone regards Ranger& I'm fairly sure the press at the time mooted around the same number. His last contract might have been £3k but I doubt this one is. Anyway - a lot of journalists have Xisco down as earning £50k - so either comparison will do. Christmas Tree 4831
Ok - if there is this wonderfully talented manager out there - who'll work on a low budget, who'll work with a threadbare squad, who'll work for a small wage, who'll work under media sanctions imposed by the club. What makes you think Mike & Derek will find him? Given their record... Keegan - Quite an obvious choice. Dennis Wise (DOF) - Personal friend Hughton - Caretaker already employed - forgot who brought him in - might have been Keegan? Joe Kinnear - Personal friend. Shearer - Succumbed to media/alleged fan pressure. 'Best decision Mike made' then didn't hire him. Hughton/Calderwood - Happened to come good. Pardew - Llambias is a West Ham fan / Personal friend. Pardew is the best we're likely to get. You honestly need to step back, stop trying to be clever, and read peoples posts. With regard to budget, over the last few years we have brought in.... Ben Arfa, Tiote, Debuchy, Santon, Cabaye, Marveaux, Cisse, Ba, Anita and various development players. Loads of managers would give their right hand for those players. Should we have had some more, of course, but thats a canny list. As for media limitations Pardew seems to say all sorts from week to week. That part of the job really doesnt interest me as much as the coaching / picking in form players. As for finding the next manager, again if you had READ MY POSTS, you would understand that I consider that the hardest part for any club to do, even more so when you are new to football. I would hope that they would rely on others to identify candidates as they do on transfers.

Tom 14013
Have you a link anywhere to Pardews deal? He wasn't in the top 30 not so long ago, I don't expect that to change - especially as the severance is two years wages - which is £1m according to senior toontastic sources. PUGATRON1000 0
The board doesnt care about the club the least bit. probably havent watched the last 20 games or so. pardew is probably just staying because nobody is around to tell him otherwise. Also the players here have nothing to prove other than to the clubs being interested in getting them out of this shithole. Poor attempt even by your standards D-

I think he actually thinks it's quite simple but what he's actually asking for is nigh-on impossible. Basically you've got an owner who's never owned a club before with a chairman who's never worked in football before. Their stated aim is a team consistently finishing in the top 8. They're hoping to do this with more or less zero net spend, a low paid manager, a small and inexperienced backroom staff, a small squad (in terms of quality outside the first XI anyway), a small scouting network and low player wages (in relative terms). I've probably missed something there as well. So, in other words you've got two blokes with no prior experience in the game trying to achieve something that to the best of my knowledge has never been achieved in the English game. Even assuming you got a manager in who could work under those constraints and produce good results over a few seasons (not going to happen imo but anyway) then it would only be a matter of time before he went to a bigger, better job. So even if you achieved the nigh-on impossible you'd probably have to start again in 3 years or so.

It's the same shitty sort of argument you and others were making last season when you were saying there was no way Ashley would pay the extra wages to secure Coloccini. Your arguments are simply clueless.

Gemmill 46034
Netflix on a break? Either you're deliberately missing the point to wind people up, which given the circumstances makes you an arsehole. Or you genuinely can't grasp the very simple points that people have laid out for you, which makes you an idiot because this is not difficult to understand. Either way you're fucked. Alex 35588
Yet they managed it last season. Quite, but I'd counter it's unsustainable. Loads of sides have had one good season in the top flight on a low budget then fallen away. Coppell's Reading, Ipswich under Burley are two that spring to mind. Can you name a side that has done it consistently in your lifetime? With all the factors I mentioned that is, which would immediately rule out Arsenal under Wenger and Moyes at Everton.
