You know, and I said this at the time, i.e. when he got the bullet, I think we stumbled on a potentially great NUFC manager in Chris Hughton. The players loved him, the fans loved him and he was a class act. I don't see Ashley getting that lucky again somehow.

Im not sure with Hughton. I think he was a lovely bloke, but the gang of four seemed to run things. Not that I hold that against him as he himself will have learnt from that and become a bit more ruthless as a manager.

Thats just life, sometimes you can have the right person at the wrong time and sometimes for that manager to become great, he has to go through the highs and lows as CH has.

He's had 3 managers jobs and he's done / doing a good job at all of them so far so he obviously has something about him. He was a highly regarded coach too.

I think Pardew going would be disastrous. He has shown what he can do when he has a fully fit side and you can only do so much with the players at your disposal. When that whistle goes it's up to the players on that pitch to shine and earn their money, blaming the manager is absolutely ridiculous and if Pardew was to go I feel we would only go backwards as a club and get relegated for sure.

Lets put the FA Cup to one side. If you love the FA cup you would have played the best team possible today. (and in previous years). Fans are split on how important it is so thats nowt new.

Pardew this season though has continued with systems and players that havent worked. Injuries have lead him to including the likes of Anita and Marveaux and playing some of our best football of the season. We only get to see players on match day. Why hasnt he seen how creative Marveaux is in training? Why hasnt he seen that 442 with Cisse and Ba doesnt work. Why hasnt he seen Shola leading the line instead of Cisse is wrong? Why leave our best player of the last few weeks on the bench today?

He just seems pretty damn clueless.

I agree sacking him without an upgrade is daft, but if an upgrade is available then the sooner hes gone the better.

Do you think that QPR have a better chance of survival now?

There's an entire page on the manager debacle in which you've been contradicated or did you miss that?

Go on - follow.

Why would a manager work under the mentioned restrictions - let alone a good one.

You're just trying to pull away from the debate rather than contribute.

Thats like saying why would cabaye, Frances great international replace Nolan?

Keep him for fuck's sake. We finished 5th last season and scored some of the best goals I have ever seen. We should be ok when we have a few of our proper players back.

When you are in and amongst that middle group in the PL, you can flit around from 5th to 14th quite easily from season to season.

Blame the ridiculous divide that has been created by the huge wealth of bankrolled clubs. It's shit but that is what the game has become.

He came to a better league for more money. Quite possibly with a view to moving to a top four side. I think if a similar approach to getting the right manager was employed then we wouldn't even be having this debate as Pardew would've been replaced with someone better already.

Dont doubt it. Im just saying he may be on a curve himself and end up been a better manager for having things turn out the way they did at Newcastle. Im sure when he eventually looks back on his time there he will realise mistakes he made. Everyone does.

I can't hide my utter dismay and embarrassment at not just today but our cup performances and the attitude of Pardew towards these competitions ever since he took over. It's unforgivable.

Aye, fair enough. Working with a pair of cunts like Ashley and Llambias would probably have done him the world of good in a perverse way.

Money.

Players in the french league earn a lot less on average compared to a premier league player.

Yet somewhat understandable.

Not that I'm happy at all about our non-performances and apparent lack of desire.

I think he did a lot right. The word at the time was that he let the gang of four rule the roost and was quite timid with his bosses.

Ok - if there is this wonderfully talented manager out there - who'll work on a low budget, who'll work with a threadbare squad, who'll work for a small wage, who'll work under media sanctions imposed by the club.

What makes you think Mike & Derek will find him?

Given their record...

Keegan - Quite an obvious choice.

Dennis Wise (DOF) - Personal friend

Hughton - Caretaker already employed - forgot who brought him in - might have been Keegan?

Joe Kinnear - Personal friend.

Shearer - Succumbed to media/alleged fan pressure. 'Best decision Mike made' then didn't hire him.

Hughton/Calderwood - Happened to come good.

Pardew - Llambias is a West Ham fan / Personal friend.

Pardew is the best we're likely to get.

The only thing that I could see that could potentially be their saving grace is no doubt they would use Carr to recommend to them any potential replacements.

Is this true?

Moyes is Evertons highest earner. Unbelievable.

Ranger brings in £20'000 a week. Pardew brings in less than £10k.

Moyes earns £3m a year.

You'd hope so - but can a player spotter really spot a manager?

I'm not sure.
