Seems now Toebertan has gotten over whatever was affecting his little piggies it's about time for someone else to injure theirs - with danny simpson apparently out for the month after breaking it by half time in the arsenal game.

Could excuse his performance in the 2nd half? likely he was just shite and pardews given him this excuse and told him to hide until debuchy gets here. Who knows.

"Alan Pardew can add another injured player to his ever growing list after it was confirmed that Danny Simpson will be out for between three and four weeks with a broken toe. The defender was substituted off in the 82nd minute against Arsenal on Saturday evening and is now set to miss games against, Everton, Brighton, Norwich, Reading and possibly Aston Villa.

He joins Steven Taylor, Ryan Taylor, Hatem Ben Arfa, Yohan Cabaye, Haris Vuckic, Dan Gosling, Vurnon Anita and Jonas Gutierrez in the treatment room.

Pardew said earlier today;

"Maybe he should have came off at half-time. But he will be out for three or four weeks.""

I'm happy about this injury to a certain extent (obviously I'd prefer to have a healthy squad but...) We need cover at full-back and at least now they won't off-load Simpson for some stupid fee like 1 mil. It's worth that to keep him around til the end of the season and then let him go off on a free. Santon has been absolutely awful the last month or two so having competition for places is a good thing. Not saying I like Simmo or think he's a good footballer mind ya
