Park Life 71
We dont know but its highly unlikely he'll be worth that, lets hope Fernandes's pants are once again around his ankles. All he really did was paint those planes red.
Kid Dynamite 6964
Lost Ba, Colo wants to leave, Ben Arfa wants to leave, Santon may still leave. Sod's law that those 4, along with Krul have been our best players this season . It's embarrassing supporting this club at times, it really is

PUGATRON1000 0
waiting for us to improve our offer??? probs off to QPR then?? no, gonna remain unrealistically optimistic on this one, as I think Nile Ranger may tip the balance in our favour by challenging Remy to a daily dance off!! NobbySol 7
No brainer for Remy really. 80k a week to play premiership football for 5 months and if the shit hits the fan he's off in the summer. Expect hefty sign on fees for both. If QPR stay up he's got premiership footy next year. What a cunt though

ChezGiven 0
So what happens if he signs for QPR, doesnt score that many goals and they go down/ The bit of the equation which Harry didnt mention. In this case, all you need to do to Remy is persuade him that in this scenario, he skulks back to France and gets a worse deal than he's on now. In the case they go down, it would be unlikely he will have made that much of an impression (no more than Ba at West Ham anyway). If he values certainty over gambling then signing for QPR even with 90k a week isnt necessarily the right choice. Any deal on offer in the summer is likely to be worse than he is on now, based on the fact that if he is in that position, it didnt go well. Dr Gloom 21759
This is turning out to be a fucking shite transfer window, even by recent standards. Ba gone and his replacement blows us out for qp fucking r. Colo on his way, Santon linked with a move home and Ben Arfa flirting with PSG. We need at least three new players In now, not at the end of the window. The thing that concerns me is Remy was the only one we were being linked with. sniffer 0
Surely our much-vaunted scouting system will have unearthed some Michu-like gems. Remy was probably just a smokescreen and we'll have the real thing in by the weekend.

That's a fair point, if for whatever reason he signs for QPR and they still get relegated one can only assume that he'd have had a hand in the relegation by not performing as hoped and thus devalue himself for any possible contract offered be a club coming in and activating his release clause. Such things have seen players drift from one club to another from that point onwards, never fulfilling their potential and never getting another top contract again... bet he hasn't thought of that at all. TheMoog 0
No, because he's counting his money tonight. Depends what he wants long term I guess, I'd have thought there was less money flitting from one club to another on lower wages after that initial 6 months of playing for QPR though. TheMoog 0
From the Beeb Loic Remy: QPR set to beat Newcastle for Marseille striker By Ben SmithBBC Sport Queens Park Rangers are close to completing the £8m signing of Loic Remy after hijacking Newcastle's move for the France striker. The 26-year-old had been due to arrive on Tyneside for talks on Sunday night but did not appear. QPR matched Marseille's asking price and have now offered Remy a more lucrative contract, understood to be more than £70,000 per week. Remy had previously indicated he would not join the Loftus Road club. Newcastle are privately stunned by the turnaround but there is a sense that if Remy sees the QPR offer as a better deal, then this setback may ultimately prove a blessing to the club. QPR manager Harry Redknapp believes Remy's goals may be enough to lift the club away from relegation having scouted the player a number of times this season. Remy has made 14 Ligue 1 appearances for Marseille this season but only started two games. He was left out of Marseille's squad for their trip to Sochaux on Sunday. Magpies manager Alan Pardew had identified Remy as the man to replace the departed Demba Ba.
ChezGiven 0
Don't get your point. He could get relegated with us too Do an expected value analysis of his income streams but weight them by the probability of relegation. If the difference in probability of relegation between us and QPR is x% then the net present value of his NUFC income is > than the QPR one (probably). All you need to do is persuade him that there is a big enough difference

Craig 6670
at people going "OMG he's only gone there for the money." He's a fucking footballer. Of course he's gone there for the money. This shouldn't be a surprise or used to hit him over the head with. That's what the game is all about, if you don't like it, then stop watching it. Once an accountant always an accountant, eh Scott? Seriously though if Remy gets job satisfaction from flirting with a bunch of shite who look like they simply cannot be arsed then good luck to him. So long as he's coining in his £80k a week. If this does come off then even by footballing standards he's a mercenary bastard of the highest order - it's up there with Gyan walking out on the Mackems. Had he not refused to even entertain the idea of signing for QPR only last week his actions today might have some credence. There won't be many QPR fans who hand on heart an see he's there for any other reason than money. Onwards and upwards...
