Fuck you.

Wall Of Voodoo were such a better band when he was a part of it.

I forgot Souxsie and the Banshees and The Fall release some cracking albums in the 80s.

You mentioned the Smiths and it set me off on one.

The Smiths are the 80's answer to King Crimson in the 70's, unrelenting garbage but it was "cool" to pretend they were good. I always "bite" on The Smiths, can't help myself.

Love King Crimson!!!!

tbh, that first Smith's album was brilliant and a revelation at the the time.

Some of Marr's guitar work is exceptional.

Actually I don't love King Crimson but Robert Fripp has released some amazing stuff.

Snap! (apart from the GCSE bit)

Went there in 1992 by bus for my first lads holiday. (Fucking nightmare journey when you cannot kip on a bus).

:D

Great man :)

The only 'food' they offered were Pot Noodles that were made with tepid water that took 20 minutes to soften and were ultimately stone cold by the time they hit the lips . I had torrid windypops all the way therafter .

The buses started at the town then picked up Smoggies and other cunts as it went . The second year we did it but paid a few quid extra as they had the 'quicker' option of train through France . Like fuck it was quicker . And into the deal we got stuck next to a plague of droning Brummies .

The train had a DISCO car too  overpriced stubby cans of stella and the lights getting turned on and off . Then back to the sweaty arse vinyl seats and the sanctuary of 3 Feet High and Rising on t'Walkman .

The man with Journey and Def Leppard in his list slating The Smiths.

The Smiths were and are turgid beyond description, the bloke can't even sing man !!

Steve Perry the singer out of Journey is one of THE great rock voices of all time. Escape is a great album.

Not a Leppard fan my any stretch but Hysteria was a very good album of it's time.

I draw the line at Bon Jovi. The bloke didn't know who The Replacements were so assumed they were shit, the floppy haired bell end.

Went to see them in Glasgow SEC, they were utter shit, and he did nowt but prance about posing and pouting at screaming girlies. Slippery was a bloody good album though.

Easily in the top three shittest gigs I've been to.

Toonpack's a poodle/cock/hair rocker!

Half of them are going to be swept up in the Saville enquiry TP, you've been warned.... ;)

tenuous association....I used to work with Robert Fripp's cousin "Dickie" Fripp.... all prog rock is turbo shite, even worse than Slowdive and Swervedriver....

have I missed offending anyone else?...The Smiths were better and hugely more influential than any band they influened, including all the early 90s indie schmindie NME melody maker bands Sammy seems to like...

Deep down aye, fully commited member of the Quo Army in me yoof.

That said I like all sorts from Classical to Metallica, who are about as heavy as I go, although Skindred and Disturbed have done some Ok stuff (and I think Ramstein are class) and most genre's inbetween, excluding punk, never "got it" then, despite seeing the Stranglers in their "pomp" with obligatory ripped jeans etc and safety pins all awa and still think it's mainly shite now.

It's ironic that could have been written by Stevie.

In the 90s, aye. I used to have that on a mix tape from Progress as it happens. I bet you got fucking sick of it in Central Park like (that's where you used to work isn't it?).
