Bravo, really excellent list.

I presume you mean Homework for Daft Punk. Couldn't wait for that album after some of the remixes they had been doing beforehand. Preferred Exit Planet Dust to Dig Your Own Hole though.

I meant Homework, was just a typo and i also meant the Chemical's debut album. Exit Planet Dust is the better album, without doubt. I've got an early 'Dust Brothers' 12" white label with Song to the Siren, One too many Mornings and Chemical beats on it. The change of name is obviously why they called their debut that.

In no particular order

Temple of the dog - S/T

Pearl Jam - Ten

Nirvana - Nevermind

Soundgarden - Superunknown

Lifetime - New Jersey's Best Dancers

Lifetime - Hello Bastards

Kid Dynamite - S/T

Descendents - Everything Sucks

CIV - Set Your Goals

Refused - The Shape of Punk to Come

Shit, forgot Blind Melon's S/T. Take out CIV or Soundgarden for that.

They did the essential mix as The Dust Brothers. I taped it off the radio (those were the days) and it was tremendous. The tape sadly perished a few years ago. It was the remix of The Chemical Brothers' Life is Sweet which got me into Daft Punk. I'm so out of touch with music these days, just happy to stay in the 90s!

Public Enemy - Fear Of A Black Planet

Although this was released in April 1990, wasn't a bunch of the singles released in 89?

Public Enemy and NWA for me did all their best work in the 80s.

Both Check Your Head and I'll Communication were brilliant releases and that's the problem with a top 10.

Superunknow is not half the album Badmotorfinger is.

13 is my fav Blur album. IMO their most mature work and not jumping up and down for attention. I guess I should have had 'Laughing Stock' in my list. :)

Undoubtedly, but it's allowed in :P

Mind, I think PE have had at least 1 greatr track on every studio album since then too. Always something worthwhile on their albums. Just a bit more filler.

Anyone into UK hip hop? There are some quality artists out there:

Roots manuva

Foreign beggars

Black twang

Aspects

Task force

Ty

Rodney P

Fallacy and Fusion

Et al

The only reason I didn't include Roots Manuva is because Run Come Save Me is my favourite and that's not 90s. Like the more Reggae stuff on Duppy Writer too.

Saw Aspects live years ago, got a couple of their albums. They are canny.

Strictly Kev (DJ Food)

DJ Format is mint too.

and I like Sway...but I'm getting away from the 90s :)

Surprised me and you are the only 2 with 'Timeless'.

I prefer Honey's Dead.

The Rollercoaster tour they did just prior to the release of Honey's Dead was amazing, I timed a trip to London just to make sure I saw the Brixton Academy show.

First support Blur who had only just released Leisure, Dinosaur Jr 2nd support, My Bloody Valentine main support and JMC who were at the top of their game at that stage.

Fucking awesome.

I remember that tour from the time although I didn't actually see it. Honey's Dead is just a great album though. Could've easily made my list if I'd remembered it.
