PaddockLad 17654
Martinez has also never had the opportunity to work with players as good as Pardew did last season so it's a bit of a mute point. That's like saying David May was a better centre half than somebody like Woodgate because he won more trophies than he did. It would be interesting to compare budgets though. Am really not sure what that would show tbh. Not to mention Wigan being chronically inconsistent. Why cant Martinez get them playing beuatiful carpet football every week?....sack the cunt he's useless. Ours, on top of my head: Ba - 15 million striker Cisse - 15 million striker Ben arfa - 20 million winger Cabaye - 15 million CM Tiote - 15 million DM Anita - 8 million utility DM/fullback Colo - 7-8 million defender Santon - 6-7 million fullback Krul - 15 million keeper Edited November 30, 2012 by Lake Bells tits

If you just look at the teams on paper we have a far superior team to Wigan, whereas they're inconsistent due to their squad being one of the worst in the league, yet Martinez always seems to set them out with a particular game plan and gets the best out of what he's got, which is something Pardew isn't doing with us. One big concern for me at the moment is that in the past when Pardew's teams are on the decline he's never been able to turn that slide around. Hopefully he can do that with us, but the history books don't look upon it favourably at the moment.

Thats all down to Carr,Llambias and Ashley. Its called undervalued players acheieveing more than their transfer fees would suggest they could. Which is the complete essence of NUFC in 2012. And who was the coach when their transfer fees shot up in value?... to be fair to you Pardew may have had some input there perhaps? Thats why he's got time to sort this out, last season's performances.
Lake Bells tits 1
Be that as it may, its our current squad and the one Pardew has the task of getting the most out of. You cant compare that squad to the squads of managers like Lambert and Martinez. They are shovelling pig shit in comparison. We may disagree on alot of things but I think we can agree that the names of those players with their values attached to them makes up a hell of a good team - on paper. And NUFC showed last season that in the last 18 months theyve been better at it than any other club in the premiership. Its why we finsished 5th. Wonder how much the likes of Kone,Maloney and Di Santo are on?... Good post, it would be interesting to break it all down at his other clubs. Lake Bells tits 1
There are at least 7 players in our starting XI that has been repeatedly linked with the likes of Chelsea, Man U, City and/or Arsenal - which suggests otherwise Stevie. aimaad22 4222
Dont think anyone is debating that. The problem is to expect another season where our top players remain injury free, especially keeping in mind European involvement, was folly. Which brings you back to the two idiots sitting on top of Pardew. We'll just keep going on in circles like this
Lake Bells tits 1
So you are happy with how we play when both cabaye and tiote are playing? Sitting in front of williamson and colo and hoofing it up? Thats kind of my point. The injuries arent affecting our playing style as much as you make out. Its fairly similar to what we are cooking up now tbf. Edited November 30, 2012 by Lake Bells tits

We're not Brazil 1970. Krul, Coloccini, Tiote, Cisse, Ba, Ben Arfa, Cabaye and Santon are definitely all closer to Wigan's standards than Chelsea's. One thing he does deserve a lot of credit for last season was getting the likes of Perch, Best and Ryan Taylor to perform at their absolute maximum. Especially as those players were wrote off by fans. He seems to have a knack at getting those to perform.

Gejon 2
Self defeating arguments here, listing our top players but ignoring the very important point that they haven't played many games together this season, which is a big reason why we are struggling is desperate. Our core/key players have spent far too much time injured or suspended, they are either missing or coming back. How many games have Tiote and Cabaye played together? S Taylor and Colo? How many games did Krul miss at the start of the season? That's not to say we haven't played some atrocious football which Pardew could have done a hell of a lot more to correct but to completely ignore the fact we have had to deal with these problems is stupid. To bring up Pardew quotes where he is trying to deflect the blame from his boss is just a whole new level of moronic, imo. He is far from perfect, he does really annoy me at times but he didn't win manager of the season out of luck. He is a decent manager who is going through a very poor spell. He and the coaching staff need to get things turned around quickly but anyone calling for his head really need to have a look at themselves. We are becoming a joke with regards to shifting managers, fair enough we have had more than our fair share that needed moving on but it's pathetic how quickly some have turned on Pardew. The Fish 10965
Martinez has also never had the opportunity to work with players as good as Pardew did last season so it's a bit of a mute point. That's like saying David May was a better centre half than somebody like Woodgate because he won more trophies than he did. He had the opportunity to work with Reina, Gerrard, Suarez and under an owner that would actually back him financially. Or are you saying that Martinez may not be as impressive with better players? Another issue that I have with casting names about is that we're being guilty of that which we're so often accused. A bad run of games and we're calling for the manager's head, as if that alone has ever solved anything for us. We played better against stoke than we have been and while the performances have been poor, and that's partially Pardew's responsibility (it's also down to the player themselves), there are mitigating reasons. If we had our 1st team out and the performances were as poor as they have been I'd be impatient too. However, given the landscape looking the way it does, I don't believe calling for Pardew's head is anything but panic.

Colourblind 0
Padrew can only play the players available to him. Its not hes fault that half the squad is injured. We want stability at the club and that isnt going to happen if we keep changing mangers.
