Dr Gloom 21924
Alreet, all? Well, I didn't die so you can cancel that bouquet of flowers, lads. It was fucking rough from october through 'til february, but I'm fine now. I just go for scans and blood-tests once a month and everything's been clear since december. I'm in full remission, which is obviously a relief. Cheers excellent news mate. a mate of mine had to have one of his balls lobbed off a years back. he did a 90 mile bike ride across south africa 6 months later and is fit as a fiddle now. definitely one of the less scary cancers if you catch it early enough. good luck with it all! Cheers. I've ran a couple of 10k's since, climbing Snowden in August then Great North Run in september. I'm shite at running since chemo, mind. Lung capacity is shot and the fact I lay on my back for 3 months barely using my legs has left them weak as watta. On your other point, "one of the less scary cancers", I don't agree with that, mate. It might be more curable than most other cancers, but still fucking scary when you can't get out of bed for a week or told "you have to stay in isolation for 7 days or you could pick up an infection and we won't be able to save you - as you have no white-blood cells". Though, you're right it's definitely the best one to have, if you're going to get it.

ChezGiven 0
Its easier to detect (men check there regularly for some reason....) and it tends to be less aggressive but its still cancer!! Scary in any form. Glad to hear all is well. The white blood cell count is a side effect of the chemotherapy called neutropenia. White blood cells are fast replicating cells so are also killed by chemotherapy (as well as the cancer cells). Thats why your hair falls out as hair is also fast replicating. Chemo isnt targeted so it kills healthy as well as deformed cells which are replicating and dividing. I am working on Pancreatic cancer and that is by far the scariest. It doesnt present any symptoms at first and you only really notice it when you get e.g. jaundice and its metastasized. If its metastatic, you cant operate you are basically fucked. Only about 10% of Pancreatic cancer patients get an operation (resection) as they get an early diagnosis. The majority get a chemo or a bit of radio. Except nothing works. On average, diagnosed at stage III/IV you've got 3-6 months to live. Its a fucking nightmare.

JaMoUsE 0
Good news that. was at the freeman last month with a suspect lump myself. After a ultra sound they think i have a hydrocelle and a cyst on me bollock. The operation is pretty intrusive to sort it so i'll just be keeping a watchful eye on things for the next year or two. Was pleased it wasnt the big c though. Being so open about ur own story is great and certainly encouraged me to go to the doctor to have it checked out. catmag 337
The operation really isn't that intrusive for a hydrocele - it literally takes about 15 minutes. If it continues to worry you then don't let "surgery" put you off getting rid of it for piece of mind.
JaMoUsE 0
I had a look on youtube, as you do... And they were turning things inside out, cutting this and that. Didn't really fancy it if im honest. Consultant said theres about a 50/50 chance of it coming back too so decided against it for the timebeing. i'll keep an eye on things and get it sorted should it change much. Clearly im soft as shite :-D

Mac-Toon 1
I always assumed they would've cut my "sack" and took my ball out of there, however they don't. They cut you at the top of your groin and push everything up and out of there. I've got a canny scar, but couldn't give a monkey's about only having one-ball now. Honestly, they could've cut off my cock and I wouldn't have been too fussed as long as they made me better. All I'll say is that if you ever notice anything untoward or feel worried about a change then go to your doctor. It has the highest cure rates of all cancers if caught sharp. I'm currently in contact with three men (19, 24 and 31 years old) who have been sent for a scan after going to the doctor. Two of them have had a 'dodgy lump' for over a year and only thought about checking it out once they heard about me and my 'Howay the Nads' campaign. If you want to know how to check; http://checkemlads.com/v3.htm and what it's like. Cheers
Happy Face 29
Glad things are looking good. Me dad still gets pins and needless off Chemo he had years back so I know it's a bastard for donkeys. Excellent that you're on the up.
ajax_andy 0
Found a lump on my gonad last week so went to the docs yesterday and I have an epydidimus cyst... nowt to be worried about luckily. I thought that was the case tbh as looked it up on the internetz when I found it and it's position seemed to be where you get cysts and not tumours. Worth getting it checked out though just to be on the safe side... very simple and easy, basically the doc had a feel and within 10 seconds I'd cum, erm no he'd diagnosed what it was I mean Just thought i'd share this so people can see that it's dead easy to get anything checked out, takes seconds and it gives you piece of mind... or in the worst case scenario lets you catch it early and get the right treatment. As the thread states Check 'em lads!

I guess that's the danger though isn't it? Renton 21627
So what happens with a cyst, like? You have to get it removed? A nurse skewers it with a sharpened straw and sucks it dry. That's my medical opinion anyway.
ajax_andy 0
So what happens with a cyst, like? You have to get it removed? Nah they just leave it unless if starts to get big and painful... chances are it should be fine and as there's no medical issues with it being there they'll not touch it unless it grows big and starts hurting.
