Got put off them by a salesman tbh who said the crisper pictures were from Led / LCD. Said Plasma was best for movies.

As said though, size and price rule them out in this instance.

You of all people should know salesmen are full of shit ;)

40 quid outside of budget on Amazon, but you might be able to find it cheaper elsewhere. I've been looking into this recently for my gran.

Went with this one.

Just had a look there, and it looks like the Panasonic one for 50 quid is the one to get. I almost guarantee you'll have problems if you get a cheap one off eBay.

To be honest though, if you're gonna pay that much, I would strongly consider forking out a bit more for some homeplugs so that you have a wired connection.

£59.99 for these, less than half price. Read the first review for a good overview of how they work. The beauty of these is that you'll never have a problem with dropping the signal or anything like that.

I've got them in here cos the router is in the lounge (for Anytime+) and I didn't want to run the desktop on a wireless dongle cos they just aren't as good as a wired connection.

I also use them to connect the PS3 and the NAS to the network and it means I can stream HD content which would always drop out or stutter on a wifi connection.

60 quid is a good deal on them and you can just add plugs as and when you want and they'll pick up the connection.

£43 on ebay http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=330831807505

Gemmill, do you know if these have to go directly into the first point socket at wall ?

These coyld be very useful but at moment they'd probably have to go into a gang extension socket and not sure if that would work / be safe ?

Ed-not sure if link is for a pair
