Theres pardhoofs excuse for the upcoming losses this season. "Cabaye is a big miss for us there is no doubt about that"

Cant really say Im bothered the way he has played this fall. Get well etc but dont rush back if you play on giving us these types of performances.

He is absolutely mint for his national team though, so is he having difficulties adapting to the premier league or is it the fact that we are worse than the mackems going forward?

Time will tell.

Ive just had it with Pardew, he is a charlatan and a fraud. I could just about tolerate him when we were winning despite pathetic tactics and fotball.

Ben Arfa aside there is precious little to enjoy about our current team, despite loads of world class talent.

Its being wasted and the team will no doubt be dismantled not unlike rats abandoning a ship.

Would the last one out please get the lights?

To be honest I don't think you can blame Pards for our demise, it's quite simply down to a complete lack of quality in depth. We didn't strengthen in the summer or build on our over-achievement last season, it was wishful thinking that we'd challenge for Europe with the same squad - one decent season with luck on your side doesn't make us a yearly prospect.

You can as he's still not getting the best out of what he's got.

Bullshit, we dont know how to play football anymore and with the amount of talent breast-fed on keeping it on the ground its glaringly obvious the sole reason for our inability to string together 3 passes is down to Alan and Alan alone.

He's had a poor season thus far, but without a doubt he'll be missed. Hopefully Tiote can avoid injury or suspnesion until he departs for the Africa Cup of Nations. In terms of replacing Cabaye in the side noone really stands out as the obvious choice. It would have been nice to have Guthrie sitting around right now.

Cabaye may have been crocked for some time already. Getting him fixed up might be a wise move in the longer term, although we need him desperately.....just goes to show how thin the squad is (which is not Pardew's fault)

He hasnt played well. Tiote hasnt. Colo hasnt. Cisse hasnt. We are going through a very poor patch as team where our shape and tactics need a bit of sorting out.

But to say you arent bothered by one of our best players being out? He's basically our engine room ffs. I'd want all the above mentioned players in and around the starting eleven whether they are playing well or not. Because they are proven quality, and will hit form sooner or later.

Dunno, I just call it as I see it. I know he is a very good player, but he just hasnt been for us for several months now ( nor last year for that matter). He is not athletic enough to boss a midfield in a two. I agree with you, Cabaye is proven quality. For France and Lille, just not for us. Handful of performances aside he has been underwhelming as a whole.

Its not all his fault though, he is playing in a system that doesnt suit him and he was lied to when he was coming here about our playing¨style.

 Sorry for throwing a bucket of cold water in your face if you didnt already realise.

We are arguably the worst team in the division to watch for a neutral. Ben Arfa aside, I think most people would enjoy watching Stoke alot more.

The problem hasnt been with build up play. At least when we are not HOOFING the ball we can pass it out of the back and move up pretty well. Its when we get near their box we seem to be struggling at the moment. HBA is giving good penetration though at times he is swamped by opposition and balls in from either wing end up with no one there. We've got young lads like Sammy putting a good ball in but havent not looked up to see theres no one there. If we could sort out our final third it wouldnt look as bad. Cabaye had an awesome season last year and you dont suddenly become shit. He's been carrying an injury and that is one of many factors that is making is struggle.

the lack of imagination near the opposition box is more visible because you are on the edge of your seat, but we lack an effortlessness in moving forward as a team no matter where we are on the pitch...

Also Cabaye had his good spells last season but I have to disagree with the notion that he was "awesome"... we had loads of shite games like this season though, difference was we were better at robbing teams of points with Ba and Cisse firing.

Individual performances was what gave us last season, not team tactics. Also the 6-7 games of 4-3-3 towards the end which everyone is waxing so lyrically about was against teams who in many cases had nothing to play for anymore....

Feels shite to be a fan at the moment. Great players mishandled by a clown of a manager which you cant get rid of because you know the owner would just hire someone even worse.

We just misplace far too many easy passes, that's not down to formation but lazyness iyam. We are more responsible for breaking down our own attacks than the opposition half the time. It's not a case of them putting in excellent interceptions, It's us playing balls that are 60/40 in the oppositions favour.

Maybe the players are demotivated, maybe challenging for a CL place has put them above their stations but whatever it is something needs to be done by Pardew and the coaches because as said, it is happening far too much and is such a ridiculous problem to have, It's the passing equivalent of a foul throw but it happens half a dozen times per game.
