Do you think the iPad 4 will be sold out today?

I know they could be pre-ordered from a few days ago and all the fan boys will have done this and probably queued since about 1am this morning... so does anyone think I have any chance of walking in to the Apple shop or John Lewis later today and picking one up, or will they be completely sold out?

I can go tomorrow too but am thinking I might have the same problem?

Anyone tried to buy an iPad on release day or the day after before?

Isn't the release day and the day after before the release day the same day?

Haha I meant has anyone tried to buy one before... i.e. has anyone ever tried on the day or the day after.

I understand completely what your are saying though as when I read it my initial reaction was... WTF does that mean?! :D

If you get the Nexus 10, you won't have to high five anyone on the way into the shop.

I don't want a Nexus as I have all my appointments on my iPhone and the ability to sync the 2 and have each back up the other is a big bonus with the Ipad tbh.

Plus I like high fiving people

More reasoned arguments for the Nexus

The device is 8.9mm thick and 603g making it thinner and lighter than the iPad’s 9.4mm thickness and weight of 662g.

Apple appears to have been schooled by Samsung in this instance [display] as the Nexus 10 sports a slightly larger 10.1-inch ‘Super PLS’ LCD with a 2560x1600 pixel resolution and a pixel density of 300ppi. On a display of this scale that is pretty staggering and ensures that the Nexus 10 is now supreme ruler of tablet displays.

The iPad 4 is dual core, clocked at 1.4GHz

The Nexus 10 is dual core and clocked at 1.7GHz

iPad 4 has 1GB of RAM

Nexus 10 has 2GB of RAM

16gb iPad4 - £399

16gb Nexus 10 - £319

Depends on what you want to use it for though really... like I said I have an iPhone so the syncing between the 2 is invaluable. The specs of the Nexus don't impress me really any more than the iPad as all I'll be using it for is to show clients examples of my work and the iPad screen works perfectly for this. Other than that I'll probs play footy manager on it and browse the web, maybe watch films on the plane etc.

Can see why some might go for the Nexus though... especially as it's highly unlikely they'll release a new version every few months!

So get a Nexus 4 rather than an iphone. Like saying you prefer horses over cars because you've already got a saddle.

Haha yeah good point but I'm 100% happy with my iPhone so have no real desire to move over to an android phone.

iPad 5 is coming out in January with what apparently will be marketed as a 'pissing in android's chips 301 ppi'.
