Noelie 103
I'm with Pardew 100% on this, when you're playing crap and you're losing at home the right thing to do is put Obertan in. His aggression, perfect crosses, jinking past players with pace, and his tireless work-rate from end to end, is a joy to behold.

JawD 99
3 defeats now so far this league season, which isn't that bad. Got us to fifth last season, deserves a lot of credit. Has us on the brink of knockout round qualification in Europe. Which is why I feel bad for even contemplating wanting Pardew out. The players deserve plenty of criticism but the lack of drive and positivity (until the final minute, when Krul went up) has to be mostly down to Pardew. I can semi-understand being cautious if we're protecting a lead but when we're trailing?! Last time we played this lot at home we beat them 5-0. We had belief that day and outclassed them. Since then I think we've scored more than 3 once (against Arsenal). With the talent we've got we should be beating the likes of West Ham or at least drawing with them. You're contemplating wanting him out? Get a grip man. I was just taking the piss out of a Mackem for saying some nufc fans wanted Pardew out. I told him to stop trying to get bites because his team were struggling with their "saviour" Our revolving door is thankfully shut. Anyone who wants Pardew out after an average start wants shot with shit imo.

The Fish 10963
He was very poor but then he didn't have much to aim at as I have and others have mentioned. Doesnt seem to have any encouraging attributes to his game. For all the talk about his delivery, its shite! Then again the delivery was shite from everyone today. Don't get me wrong. Im not writing the kid off, he's just not the fix-all solution that CT says he is. Today we were missing our 1st choice centre half & our 1st choice defensive midfielder. We lost our captain early and had to reorganise from the original plan, and we're still to get a run of games with our 1st choice side out and given the thin nature of our squad we're suffering. Read the initial response and we're doomed. A little perspective wouldn't hurt, especially from those saying we shouldn't be giving Pardew much longer. I shake my head, I really do. Shit performance
JawD 99
While I don't rate Obertan I didn't have any massive issue with his effort. I just wanted to see more of the side bust a gut to get in the box when we put balls in.

PaddockLad 17649
Instead of criticing the players who we know are a bit average, can any of the assmebled armchair experts give me a run down on Cabaye's second half contribution please? He's played 95% of the season like he wishes he was in London, he goes missing for huge swathes of games. Only his immense ability has on the odd occasion masked this. I think he has suffered the most from our hotch-potch side. He looks like he's being asked to play more and more defensive to cover the absence of his midfield partner and the ever-changing back line. Monroe Transfer 0
I don't want Pardew out. Merely like I said earlier if this form continues for months then I might want him out. That's as far as any contemplation goes. Right now I'm still right behind him but he really needs to sort a multitude of issues out.

But honestly, the amount of times we got in behind them today with no one on the edge of the box to cut it back to. Where the fuck was he, or Anita? cant they speak to each other?.. "I'll sit in, you support the attack"... thats whats got my goat. We did enough graft to win that game, but the finesse to finish the moves off wasnt there. It's the kind of thing that a player coming in the January window could make a huge difference.
Kid Dynamite 7169
Just got back. We were poor until they scored. We weren't great after that but at least we tried I lost count of the amount of times we got the ball into dangerous positions on the wing only to be let down by the final ball. It was always too long, too short, too high or missed our players completely. What's wrong with a little 10 yard cutback along the floor for a player to arrive late onto? We never do it! Cabaye's corners are still shite too. It's been a year since we scored from a corner apparently If ever there was a moment that illustrates that Ba and Cisse can't play together after 12 months it was when the pair of them were through on goal, jostling with each other for the same header If they can't play together after 12 months of training sessions then it's never going to happen. All of our strikers are too similar, we need a Bellamy/Defoe type player imo. The punts up top are wearing very thin now.
Asprilla 96
We're more likely to see players like Cabaye and or Tiote/Ben Arfa leave IMO. It's not likely to be as much fun as it used to be playing for us and if the owner isn't ambitious then they will all fuck off.

Renton 21998
J69's summary was fair. We squandered chance after chance in the final third; personally I thought we were unlucky not to get anything. Also thought WH were better than any team Allerdyce put out for us mind; luckily Carroll didn't have the heart for this match actually. The way some arm chair pundits are going on is pathetic though. We've been poor this season and we're poor today. We'll get better though. I can't see us doing much in the league tbh and who gives a shit if you're 8th or 14th? I hope we concentrate on the cups. Park Life 71
Really looks like he's run out of ideas now. The whole thing needs a re-boot. he's a decent man manager and needs to find another few new keys to unlock the side. It's looking stale and repetitive. He won't accept that whatever happenned last year (Ba a bit deeper and all that) it really is clear that these two don't work together well. Both are too similar and rarely combined in anything resembling danger. The ball is hit long too often and the runs (especially of Cisse are too direct rather than winding or shallow). We need to drop one forward and deploy an extra midfielder so we can have a bit more control over games and there isn't that ever present temptation to go direct as soon as we get the ball. We can do it and we did it in some games last year. Hatem is picking up the ball way too deep (around or behind the half way line) which renders his best work more or less ineffective. He isn't helped by the fact we have so little inventive posession with the central pair locked down game after game in fire fighting roles (Cabaye must be getting sick of it). All our set pieces are rubbish (normally a floated hopeful ball to Williamson). Cabaye is also proving highly hit and miss with his dead ball work. Hatem might be an option. Apart from the Bordeaux game I can't remember one game where we played convincing football other than the odd 5 min here and there. This side is going backwards now. If the REAL Swansea turn up we'll be struggling. Edited November 11, 2012 by Park Life
