Got some Samsung camcorder mini tapes. Anyone ever tried putting these onto a PC.

Seems to be quite hard work from my 5 minute google.

Nowt worse than when you've made a good home porno and can't work out how to get it on the pc like

I used to have an Archos 605 which you could plug video cables into and record to a data file. It was mint for that. Got all my old home vids done before it gave up on me.

Dunno if the current models still allow it. Might be an expensive and outdated solution to a problem I don't need to resolve in this more modern age of WIFI TV's that record to internal hard discs.

Do you not have the camcorder the films were made on? It should have a vdeo out on it. Then you just need to plug that cable into something capable of recording the video signal to a data file.

Or just put the camcorder screen right up against the webcam and press record.

I do have the sony camcorder but apparently Windows 7 doesnt support the video out via usb. Looks like I need to either load up XP or something like that or try and buy a go between of some sort.

CT you can probably just pay someone to do this. An independent camera shop or something. Be much easier, assuming it hasn't got you skullfucking the missus on it.

Aye I might look into that, loads to do like so might be pricey. Still, I would rather sit in the taxi and earn the money to pay someone to do it.

Few bob extra and you could getone of these to keep and do it yourself....

I assume the composite in would allow you to plug in a camcorder, console, set top box, dvd player or any other device that outputs video.

If it was going to be an ongoing thing I would. £98 to get 14 tapes transferred is a fabulous deal imo.

Not only would I have to buy kit but Im also geussing it would be a long job, a steep learning curve, lots of disk space and burning DVD's etc

This way I just need to sit in the cab, do some jobs, watch some TV and the jobs done. :)
