Who is the best/your favourite player in the premier league

I don't think there's been a stand alone best player head and shoulders above the rest since Ronaldo went to Real. Possibly Aguero but he's only done it for one season, or Van Persie, but he's too much of a sick note generally.

My favourite player is Colo.

Although he is class I don't think it's David Silva, I just don't. However it is another Manchester City player. There aren't too many midfielders in world football, even on top form who are "unplayable", but Yaya Toure is. He was one of Barcelona's best players, he has the odd iffy game he does, but on song he is a monster few can live with, he does everything, and his presence on the pitch is just amazing. What a fuckin player, I'd argue with anyone that he is a better player than Vieira was, he is by far in my opinion, and it shows how highly I rate him when I admit Vieira was class. I wouldn't say he's my favourite player, but I do think he is the best player in the Barclays Premier League.

My favourite non toon player would have to be Steven Gerrard, it's not his fault he's scouse, and in my opinion he's wasted his career, he should've went to a big club when he was about 23 or 24, a genuinely big club like Man Utd, Real Madrid or AC Milan, he'd be regarded as a world great if he had've done.

Gerrard is a fucking cunt and as such I'm shocked that anyone not from Liverpool could call him their favourite player. He's a high waisted self righteous diving cunt of a player and to top it off the way he campaigns to the referee for cards to be issued to other players (even after obviously diving) is absolutely pathetic.

Add to that the fact that he's been largely shit for the last couple of years not just because of injury but also because he's so far up his arse that he refuses to play with any sort of structure or do any meaningful sort of defending.

Unfortunately I'm not even done yet. The whole assault on the DJ was part and parcel of his attitude problems that extend past the sidelines and into the rest of his life.

Agree with all of that like. Not the Gerrard bit of your post mind!

Favourite player is Baines.

Yaya Toure. I also like Rooney's style of play, such a fantastic player. Shame his personality is that of a skidmark.

blows too hot and cold to be regared as the best imo. purple patches of form followed by long periods when he plays like a fat brick layer. annoyingly, those slumps always seem to coincide with him playing for england in tournaments.

incidentally, i was at the press conference the other day for the launch of st george's park. rooney came out and said a few words before we heard from hodgson, gerrard, bernstein et al. it's funny hearing him speak. he's like an innocent, shy and quite sweet little school boy. a far cry from the thug he appears to b on the football pitch.

Your dimness and thus susceptibility to buy into hype.

Hype? He almost single handedly won the Champions League on his own against the best team in Europe, not even mentioning his contribution in getting them there, with players around him like Djimi Traore, and Igor Biscan who aren't even good enough to play for Sunderland. Also even now when he's supposed to be losing it, he was magnificent in Euro2012, the only England player who made it in to the UEFA team of the tournament, and this when he's supposed to be finished. I don't know what subjects you are most knowledgable about, as you seem to talk shite at every corner, one thing you haven't got a clue about is football however.

I'd go along with Toure as the best like. The way he won the game up here last season was phenomenal.

As for a favourite, I can't really say I like anyone who doesn't play for us. Let's face it, most premiership footballers are cunts anyway so while you have to like your own team, there's no reason to like any of the rest of them. There's plenty who's ability I admire and enjoy watching but can't say I like them.

Best-Kompany, what a player, reads the game like a librarian reads books, him or Piquenbauer for best center half in the world.

Favourite: Clint Dempsey

Kompany is alright, but he's had some shite games this season, I wouldn't call him the best centre half in the world but he's in the top 5.

Haven't read the thread so sorry if I'm repeating shit,

Yaya Toure is the best player in the league, so effortless most of the time. Great touch, decent speed, power and poise, strong in the tackle and plays the game the right way. He's the pro young players should look up to, not Rooney or that shower of pungent twats.

Favourite non-Newcastle player? If not Yaya then it'd probably be Kompany because he said nice things about us last season :icon_lol:

Favourite is tough, there's not many likeable players in Premier League football
