Maybe its just in keeping with today's society where pretty much anything goes. Russian money? Arab money? FFS tell me the difference.

Look at the number of twats who turned out for Charlie Richardson's funeral. He was in the same business more or less.

I don't think that's the issue. Arms trading is legal, I doubt that makes any difference to the families of innocent civilians killed by western munitions.

Correctly or not, payday loan companies are widely perceived as immoral vultures. Associating ourselves so closely with one of these 'toxic brands' does nothing for the club's reputation. That we couldn't attract anybody with a better image says everything about how things have been going at NUFC over the last few years.

Alternatively it says lots about the world and the sorts of companies that are thriving (loans, bookies, booze) and that have loads of cash to splash on sponsorship.

You're talking about morality issues and football?

Actually good and fair article by him there

GC's alright but brushing everything aside because 'it's just business' is a weak line to take.

If NUFC changed the home strip to red and white stripes in exchange for money, it would just be business. Alternatively, the club could be relocated to Dublin in the name of money (like Wimbledon), would that be ok because it's just business?

Highly unlikely examples I know but beneath all the shite that has attached itself to the game over the last two decades, football is more than a business.

Either you are talking shite or she was. As a community nurse I see hundreds of disabled people in their own homes. All fully fitted out with the gear needed by the council. Nee fucker needs to go to wonga to get handrails and a bath lift put in Stevie, pull the other one

First proper post on this forum, and its not about the football.

The bit in bold, you are talking shite.

My brother, a healthy 30 year old man had a bleed on his brain six months ago and is now in a completely vegatative state. He worked all his life and paid taxes. We asked the council for help to arrange his house for his needs before he came home, none was forth coming. Me and my parents have paid to have an extension done to his house, improve access and install a wet room and a hoist.

We can claim this back eventually with no guarentee of getting it all back.

Long and short, if you know fuck all, wind your neck in.

An old fashioned concept I know. Stupid of me to think football supporters care about anything other than winning at all costs, that they have no morals, are little more than animals. Edited by Your Name Here

Well said, I've been telling him to pipe down for five years, but he never listens.

It's amazing how susceptible we humans are to a snout in the trough. I don't honestly know anybody who is immune to turning a blind eye to questionable morals in return for something they want.

My take on it is that we will all stop giving a fuck if we sign a defender or two in the January window and go on a winning streak. Sad but true.

If we don't get our act together soon though form wise, we are once again, a lazy sports journo's wet dream.

And THAT is the sad truth of the matter, work all your life, pay your dues and when you need help don't dare ask.

When the organisations who "should" help don't, is there any wonder that other organisations are there to "fill the gap" and make a wedge doing it.

Is it immoral to use wongas service?

No, but getting rich on the back of people who have fallen on hard times is of questionable morality.

The rights and wrongs of payday loans needs to be addressed by government, not football. But associating ourselves so strongly with the industry isn't free of stigma. The VM deal still had the best part of two years to run. There was no need to be so eager to jump into bed with Wonga.

Speak for yourself. The good name of the club still matters to many.

 If that's a real account I'll eat hay with a hoss. And if it is, you just said yourself you can claim it back. Did you go to Wonga for your loan out of interest?

Interesting poll question then. If needs must,

Colo / Wonga or Perch?
