wykikitoon 19803
I'm no legal type, but they must have a canny strong case for getting the cash off him. I bet you wish you were a legal type and expecting the cash off Lance as part of the Legal bill. Man, thats crazy. £7.5m is a drop in the ocean for Lance, he has several properties in Austin, a private jet etc. Its all the other add ons thats going to cost him

wykikitoon 19803
Aye, I dunno how the ASO would be able to get that back. Its going to be interesting. You have to feel sorry for Armstrongs kids tbh. Caught in the middle of all this.
NJS 4355
It makes you wonder whether he realised how bad it was going to be when be decided to "stop fighting" in an almost lazy manner. That made it sound like it was still going to be unsubstantiated hearsay and not the "banged to rights" its turned out as.

I think when he "stopped fighting" he realised he was fucked and the evidence was there to see for all.

He thought stopping fighting would mean that the evidence wouldn't all come to light, but USADA have published it all anyway. I think he knew what they had and thought that stopping fighting was his best option for maintaining control of his public image.

Gemmill 44098
Cheers for that. Looks like the house move is back on, so I'm living like a monk again unfortunately, so won't be able to do anything remotely spendy for a while! Will send it on to her though and see if she finds some additional money from somewhere.

Gemmill 44098
She's fit like. I saw her on Sunday Brunch though and her crack was a bit crap, but it was that prick Lovejoy offering up the closed questions so you had to feel for her. He's a shocking interviewer, that knob. And besides that, I'm not one of these that needs sports stars to be wildly entertaining on chat shows. She did her job at the Olympics which is what matters. LoveTheBobby 1
Heard on t'wireless earlier they're filming his guesting on Oprah today . Didn't catch when it's to be screened . They're said to be showbiz great-matesmate so not much expected but very interested as to what is said/his general tact . If he comes straight out and. admits everything surely he won't have a chance against all the sponsorship and prize money they're chaasing him for?) (I thought she'd hung her microphone up anyway btw ? Does she just do testimonial gigs now ?)
PaddockLad 16991
Nicole Cooke has announced her retirement...she's not gone quietly mind... "The UCI have been so engrossed trying to find receipts for the equipment they bought after Lance made donations to them, and suing Floyd Landis after he blew the whistle, and holding press conferences calling Landis a liar," she said. "Whilst they have been busy with all these priorities, the women's road sport, that looked so promising in 2002 when I turned professional, has crumbled." To be fair, it sounds like women's cycling in general has been fucked over.. http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2013/jan/14/nicole-cooke-drugs-retires
Gemmill 44098
Yeah I read that. Apparently Armstrong has admitted to doping in his interview anyway but I'm sure it's packaged with a load of claims that it gave him no unfair advantage cos everyone was doing it etc (which is bollocks). PaddockLad 16991
Fuckin Oprah ...it'll be like a self help group. If he'd gone in with a sort of sporting Paxman type figure that would show a least a bit of contriteness, but he'll have done a list of the pro's and con's of going in with Oprah and will have weighed up if he'd be better off financially trying to change his public image. What a fuckin cynic.
sweetleftpeg 0
The Oprah thing is just going to be one massive PR stunt to get people back on side, and she'll be sympathetic as fuck to him and give him a massively easy ride. You know exactly how it's gone down. I imagine he'll break down in tears and admit to it, but quickly turn it into how he is the victim, forced to inject by nasty unnamed team management. Oprah will lap it up, and I'm afraid after he quickly turns it into 'I needed to protect the charity' then I expect a lot of the general public will as well. I imagine the money he'll have to pay back will soon be supplemented by the cash he'll make from releasing a tell all book. Twat.
Gemmill 44098
Aye I bet she lets him get away with it and never points out how deplorable it is that he's used the cancer shield any time the issue of doping comes up.
