Same can be said for Swansea, we've played very well against two of the fastest, most fluid teams in the league albeit without getting a result.

I cant believe Mertesacker is a German international. And this Monreal seemed to be all over the place, although its still early days for him of course.

The hype around this game is getting on my tits a bit.

Same here. Sky Sports News has been ridiculous all day.

Obviously I loved Ronaldo's hat-trick for Madrid at Old Trafford, although for me some of the gloss was taken away from that as he was still only about 50% of the player he was despite how everybody went on about it.

One of my favourite moments since watching football was that backheel from Redondo before he set Raul up. Think it was maybe in 2000 but it was superb.

I remember the game in 2003 when Man Utd went to the Bernabeu when the Beckham hype machine was at its height. You know the time when he thought he was good enough to play central midfield for a top club and believed he could be a playmaker like Zidane. Yes Raul was outstanding that night but this was my favourite moment from it.

I can imagine serious :wank: from SKY today, haven't seen any of it, what I saw from the 1st leg was cringeworthy enough.

Good game to watch, two big clubs no doubt but fuck off with the 'World stopping to watch' shit, man! :D

Isegrim if he were around would probably be able to post more about Mertesacker than me but I've saw him look very solid for both Germany and when he was at Bremen. The line Wenger plays with him in the back four is ridiculous though.

The game at old trafford where Roberto Carlos hopped backwards away from an oncoming player whilst dragging the ball back was great too. Can't find a clip though.

Been enjoying reading Collymore's tweets on European football this week. Agree with a lot of what he says. Make the champions league the European cup again, for league champions only. Then reintroduce the European Cup Winners Cup in a move that could mean clubs take the cups more seriously again and turn the uefa cup back into serious competition instead of the farce we have today when clubs put out weakened sides.

Rooney on the bench and was out wide in the previous tie. People were talking about him in the same breath as Ronaldo a while back. He's not in the same league tbh.

When I saw Giggs starting, with no Rooney, I questioned SAF sanity. To be fair though he's been Man Utd's best player so far. I didn't even consider this being 0-0 but it might be, very cagey affair so far, RVP and Ronaldo have both been absolutely shite.
