One long term Manager.

This will give us a better than average chance of sustained success in the coming years and I believe Pardew is the man that can achieve it with what he has behind him in terms of staff and an owner who backs down to no one.

We've come a long way since Shepherd begged , stole and borrowed for success and failed, because we never had a settled squad or a manager that lasted long enough or had the right stuff.

The only one that promised anything at that time was Sir Bobby Robson but unfortunately we got him far too late in his life for him to produce anything sustainable.

I think we definitely have that in Pardew and co and we need to remember that success in the long term, means hiccups along the way, which we obviously will face, so it's all about us fans keeping our heads together when sometimes the proverbial shit hits the fan now and again.

Stability is the key issue as we all know and it's all about building a settled squad with an influx of youngsters ready to take over the mantle if and when required.

I think we are very close to attaining all of this on every level and with the careful way we appear to scrutinise potential transfers without being held to ransom is to be applauded.

Pardew appears to be the low profile manager we needed all along after years of bringing in big name managers that promised much and delivered little since the Keegan and Robson days.

I don't think many fans were exactly jumping through hoops when Pardew was installed as manager because too many of us thought this club was too big for someone like him..yet this is the challenge that Pardew will relish and appears to be relishing.

I know SOME fans go on about not achieving anything because we won't regularly spend big or bring in players with a name and reputation in most cases... but I think we can all see that it doesn't need world class superstars to catapult you into wonderland as long as you buy in the potential that can become superstars, which we seem to be doing extremely well.

Of course, we know Man City and Chelsea fast tracked themselves into pole positions over a few short years but it was done against an unsustainable budget that could not be replenished by club revenue alone and sugar daddies are the only saving grace for their success.

We are doing it with the long term financial structure firmly set in place and can..and will... be in tip top shape when many other clubs start falling apart at the seams if they don't follow the example we are setting.

We have nailed down virtually all of our top players onto long term contracts that guarantee us, not only their quality services but also gives us a massive transfer bargaining tool if any super rich clubs decide to raid us, which fills the coffers massively should the player's head get turned or by a Andy Carroll type offer.

We appear to be buying in players for sensible fees and making them into better players that catch the eye, yet most were barely on any bigger clubs radars because the bigger clubs were too busy battling it out for the signatures of the expensive big named players on the market.

We sneak in behind the scenes and pick up the superstars of tomorrow because we have what appears to be second to none scouting led by Graham Carr and co.

It's a fantastic time to be a Newcastle fan for those of us who have witnessed the few highs and massive lows of supporting the club but it's a wonderland for all those young fans who are basically walking into the weird and wonderful world of being an unconditional Newcastle United fanatic.

I'm one for big speeches so I kept this short lol.

Anyway lads and lasses, what do you think?

Mentioned at the back end of last year how surprisingly long he's been here already...comparatively. Only Keegan and Robson with longer stints over the last 20+ years....and he's only had one full season

Lovely thread to tempt fate and then a few hours later Talksport are saying they are hearing word of a fallout between Pardew and Ashley!!!!

Well done Wolfy! Hope you're proud of yourself!
