NUFCBLOGGER 0
Finishing fifth in the Premier League, above the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea is no mean feat; especially having spent a fraction of the budget for a team competing in the higher echelons of top tier English football. That is the achievement that has now been realised by Newcastle, and if crucial players can stay fit, it can be realised again. The pressure is now on to replicate the same sort of success, with the team now competing against the Thursday night curse of the Europa League. There will no doubt be many teams looking to emulate Newcastle's success on and off the pitch last season, with United's financial model and scouting system looked upon by others as a sensible, sustainable way in which to run a football club in a difficult financial climate. The self restricted finances from billionaire owner Mike Ashley have been well publicised, the large majority of fans are now unexpectant of marquee signings and disproportionate wages handed out to players only interested in lining their pockets. The transfer policy has changed, its smarter, more astute and with one eye on the future. Newcastle are in-fact one of the lowest spending clubs in transfer fees since gaining promotion in 2009, spending a fraction [£30.25m net] on transfer fee's compared to current league champions Manchester City [£430.77m net] in the last five years. With the serious lack of first team recruitment so far this transfer window, I take a look at the two players I feel are most vital to the success of this team come the new season. There are simply two names Newcastle can not do without, particularly in the Premier League. Cheick Tiote [£3.5m] , and Yohan Cabaye [£4.8m]. Brock Manson 0
You know despite the season we had, I've always had trouble picking out who we couldn't do without. Now I have no trouble at all. Thank you, NUFCBLOGGER.
Monroe Transfer 0
So what you're saying is that central midfielders are pivotal to the team's success. Fascinating.

Guest CabayeAye
We did quite well for a while without Tiote. Colocinni on the other hand...
Dr Gloom 22143
Aye, Colo is our MVP. Ashley and Pardew know it too. They don't hand the kind of contract extension he got to other players in his age bracket.

toonotl 3106
We played quite a few games last year missing either Tiote or Cabaye and Guthrie & even Perch came in and did quite well. This article is complete garbage. To the OP: You should have a long career in journalism if you can wheel out shit like this so early in your career. Usually I imagine it would take journalist's years to develop the balls to make such amatuerist crap available to the public. Kudos to you.
