nortoon 0
Surely versatility is irrelevant in a discussion over which right back should play right back. And you paint Raylor like a fairly good defender, which he isnt. I'd prefer Simmo every day of the week at right back, he does tackle and position himself far better than Ryan Taylor does imo. Though I am dreaming of us playing Jonas and Santon as full backs. Which would allow us to play Tiote, Cabaye and Anita in a 433. Or to put on Marveaux and Ben Arfa on either wing. Dont think Pardew will drop Jonas, and he could certainly link up very well with a winger if he gets played as a full back.
ewerk 31221
If you ignore the small fact that Ryan Taylor can't actually defend then Cabayeaye is right.
jonasjuice 0
'The sooner we get shot of him, the better, irrespective of whether we get Debuchy or not.' Â This, in particular, is wrong. No argument required.

Christmas Tree 4845
 OK. Let's do a comparison:  -----------------Raylor---------Simpson  Throw-ins----Awesome-----Shocking Tackling------Adequate------Non-existent Positioning---Adequate-----Shocking Free kicks----Awesome-----Non-existent Versatility------Excellent------None  Now show me your argument.  Clearing off the line? luckyluke 2
Can't wait for this, would be great to start the season with a win against Spurs. Howay 12496
If you ignore the small fact that Ryan Taylor can't actually defend then Cabayeaye is right. Aye, Simpson is poor for the level we're looking at but Ryan Taylor is an abysmal defender. Simpson played all of last season behind Ben Arfa and Obertan who are often disinterested in defending or in Obertan's case just plain shit, whereas often when Ryan Taylor played he had Jonas in front of him. The one game Jonas missed and Taylor played he got ripped several new arseholes. Â Simpson's frustrating but adequate, Ryan Taylor is effective in midfield but as a defender he's terrifying. Im happy enough with the team though, hopefully we have Colo back for the next one. Delighted theres no Obertan instead of Ben Arfa bollocks. nortoon 0
Perch I suppose? I guess he is preferred to Williamson cos defoe is more likely to turn him than beat any of them in the air.
