Big example was Becky Adlington. Let's be honest, she was unable to defend both her Olympic titles and finished well behind in 3rd in both. Usually 5Live would (and should) be asking questions and being constructive about what went wrong. Instead, it's a brilliant result apparently. Almost like they were too scared to be even the tiniest bit critical of anyone British. I'm not saying rip the poor lass apart and witch hunt her, but it just seemed very head in the sand and kind of summed their whole Olympic coverage up to be honest. Not objective.

Claire Balding expressed the disappointment that Adlington didn't win a better medal in her second (preferred) event......and the BBC were inundated with complaints and she had to apologise and say how great a bronze was.

BBC nailed it like. I loved that I could hit the red button and chose the event I wanted to watch and then go online later and watch any highlights i wanted on their website or even stream at live at work. Brilliant stuff.

While I'd have liked to have experienced it first hand for the atmosphere etc, in doing so you must miss a hell of a lot as well.

The BBC as general did a fantastic job and the extra channels available was fantastic.

However a few items were a tad annoying. The fat cath word who interviewed some of the athletics people wasnt very nice towards some of the people nor respectable towards the national anthemes. The Lassy who was commentatuing on the MTB XC was poorly informed and when interviewing Annie Last she didnt finish it with "Well Done Annie" or the like she just turned her back on her and walked away.

Hugh Porter needs to retire too from the track commentating. The stuff with Jake & Cavendish was quite funny though;

Jake: "Cav, tell us what happens in the elimination race"

Cav: "People get eliminated"

Jake: "Ok thanks"

Cav just sits there giggling.

Didn't she swim a better time than Beijing for one of them?

Aye, in the 800, and the lass that won it absolutely rinsed the world record too. She's been in 4 Olympic finals and has 4 medals, not a bad return. I know what SLP is saying like - she was the reigning champion and she was seen as one of our gold hopefuls, so when she finishes with a bronze, it is a bit of a disappointment.

Any English person caught typing/saying EPL wants shooting tbh, unless the context demands it.

Sounds reasonable to me. I rank it alongside "United" when it comes to football-related speech crime.
