Tooj 17
Wilshere is exactly like Fabregas was at that age. Class player but a horrible petulant fucker. Basically a typical Wenger player even though he will claim different.

LeazesMag 0
good... or great? England's key player, but not as good as others in other countries in the same position.
rogerbarton 24
The main problem we have in this country is that those in charge of football in England are more interested in selling a shirt to a ten year old than teach them how to play football properly. Howmanheyman 33844
On the BBC now, Klinsman, Vialli, Shearer and Lineker. How much would these strikers be worth?

The Fish 10965
In all seriousness Shearer and Lineker are so much better than what we have today it's terrifying. Lineker absolutely lethal in the box. I can only think of Nistlerooy who came alive in the same way. Shearer... well I suppose Drogba has been the striker that has come closest to matching his overall play. The man had everything. Howmanheyman 33844
Lineker was lethal everywhere he went bar Japan when he was finished. Mark 'I'd love to spark him' Hughes did fuck all in Barcelona, goal machine Rush was a fish out of water at Juventus but Lineker learned the language at the Nou Camp and scored from day one and was a genuinely World class striker to be fair to him. Been a couple Englishman who've done Ok in the Spanish league (or at least they've been well liked); Lineker, Mcmanaman, Woodgate. Can't think of many that've done well in the Italian or French leagues though.

luckyluke 2
Fuck all, they're all really old man! In an interview in his autumn years, the great Don Bradman was asked how he'd fare in the modern game of cricket. "Oh, I reckon I'd average about 30 or 40" "is that all?!" [The benchmark for a very good batsman is 50, in his playing career Bradman averaged a shade under 100] "Well", replied Bradman, "I am in my eighties!" Guest CabayeAye
Darius Vassell was unplayable at Ankaragucu I fucking hate that word. No player is 'unplayable'. It's typical media hype attached to a player who is fairly good at something. Andy Carroll has never been 'unplayable'. Plenty of defenders have had him fimly in their pockets thus far. Messi isn't 'unplayable' - I'm pretty sure a well placed death tackle at his knees might put the lid on him for 90 minutes. Even Shearer in his prime wasn't 'unplayable', he drew plenty of blanks for us, as did Maradona, Pele etc...
ewerk 31202
I take it that you never actually saw Darius Vassell when he was at Ankaragucu? Because if you had then you wouldn't be saying that.
Guest CabayeAye
That's like saying Nile Ranger would be unplayable in the Japanese Girls U-8s Soccer League. A shite player in a slightly shiter division.

Kevin S. Assilleekunt 1
Several games in the Turkish league were called off that year, as the opposition refused to play once they saw Vassel on the Ankaragucu team sheet. "Agabadshat oonbataar," they used to call him in Turkey, the literal translation being, "he who cannot be played against".
