Henderson for England or Hodgson on Drugs ?

Recommended Posts

Just heard that the Overpriced ex Mackem turned Bin dipper is in line to replace Lampard for the Euro's. Do we have that few quality English midfielders or is Hodgson on some type of hallucinogenic medication?

That should guarentee us an early exit, next up must be Clattermong.

is Lampard injured ?

Has he tried to persuade Scholes to play again ?

Lampard's still a very useful player, much more so than most of the alternatives. I will never understand how much stick he gets.

He always seems to slow play down too much in the final third when playing for England. We can have a good attack going, four

Players moving and then he picks it up, dwells on it for ages and then scoops a really slow pass up in the air that gets cleared, hes not urgent enough.

Parker's fitness is looking doubtful as well.

Our central midfield for the Euros could well be Gerrard and Henderson.

Assuming Young is played in that floating support striker role again, then we'll have Downing on the left too. So basically we have 3/4 of liverpool's awesome midfield for an international tournament. YWNWA :pmsl:

Downing will be dropped when Rooney is available and young will move to the left

Though it's looking like being for one meaningless game by that point

Is it some type of perverse Hodgson Liverpool love in? Obviously they were so good last season they deserve loads of players in the England Team. Personally I would rather have Guthrie and Perch before that useless fucker Henderson.

most of the players he picked never actually played for him at liverpool

Even so, they play for Liverpool. It almost seems like if you play for a club of that stature it doesn't matter how your performances are.

The worrying trend for England managers is the refusal to look at any players outside of the 'big' clubs. It's only where the big clubs aren't well stocked enough in certain positions that we see players like Baines slipping through the net.

Hodgson worked with plenty of English players at West Brom yet has given players like Downing and Henderson underserved places in the squad. What good is international experience when it's shit? Not saying there should be any of the English players called up but Jerome bloody Thomas had a better season than Downing! Scott Sinclair did well for Swansea etc etc.

Until form players are picked we'll always see the same English dirge of kick and rush football that is completely ineffective at the top level and the same players who don't give a shit because they know they have no real competition for their place.

.

I dont disagree but Baines is a bad example, hes in the squad for a start and hes behind one of the best left backs in the world and one of the few who brings that level of performance to england

Surely it's just the old cliché; Form is temporary but class is permanent?*

*I'm not saying Henderson or Downing have class, but that could be RH's argument?
