Nice to see the Windies making a contest of it yesterday. Windies' bowling attack looking pretty poor but Shiv Chanderpaul is still different class. Add Gayle, Sarwan and Narine and they could give us a few problems but there's too much politics involved in West Indies cricket. It's slow even by test match standards and Chanderpaul's standards. Given the situation and the ability of those around him it was appropriate though. Dr Gloom 21965 Posted May 21, 2012 Author Share Posted May 21, 2012 you can't go slogging a run a ball when you've got three slips and a gully waiting for the outside edge. the attacking fields you get in test do slow run rates but it's a true test of a batsman's skill. it's a game of patience and skill, occupying the crease, picking the bad ball and executing the shot. i fucking love it. far more engaging and skillful than 20/20, which is entertaining but a bit of a side show for those who can't appreciate the game in its purest form. watching the cricket live is bloody brilliant. massive piss up basically. Agree 100%, can't stand 20/20 cricket. Went to a 20/20 county game in 2008 and the combination of cunts that know fuck all about the game, annoying 12 year olds high on lemonade making up shit songs about anything and everything and dull "I'll just hit everything" action makes my eyes roll over. Just shows modern society tbh, somethings not interesting unless it's over in a few hours and is has no thought to it. Great to see England get the win though! Surprisingly good quality in the local leagues though and Notts used to play the odd game at my old club as a kid (was next to my primary school and I watched Notts v Lancs through the bars at dinner in like year 5 .
