I picked uo Star Wars Jedi Survivor last week for quite cheap. Enjoyed the first one and this ones really good too.

Got the difficulty right down as per a lot of suggestions, its souls-likeness seems to have missed the point in a few places which is always frustrating if you can't mitigate it with difficulty changes.

Will I ever finish FFVII Rebirth? 90 hours in and I’m staring down the final chapter now. If I wasn’t enjoying it so much, there’s not a chance I’d be tackling a game of that length these days  Dave the Diver next so hopefully that’s a bit more manageable

Playing Automobilista 2, Assetto Corsa (& Competitizione), Dirt Rally 2,  Half Life Alyx and Arizona Sunshine 2 and Zaccaria Pinball on Quest 3 PCVR.

Quest 3/PCVR gaming has totally fucked up flatscreen gaming for me. I aren't complaining tho

Not many hills I'm willing to die on but ffvii was overrated and Panzer Dragoon Saga was the better rpg of that era by a country mile. Short, sweet and to the point with an art direction and soundtrack that was that absolutely on point.

Far more deserving of a remake or sequel than any of the FF series but neither will ever happen. FF was a grind. Panzer was a trip.

Advice needed.

Son got birthday money yesterday and is desperate to blow it.

Wants something called elden ring for Xbox (not the new expansion).

Its £49 on Xbox (where we usually buy stuff), but £29 on Amazon and CD Keys.

Am I missing something obvious?

cheers

It’s a two-and-a-bit yr old game, but was a AAA on release, so I’d expect the price to have dropped significantly from release price.

Are the two prices you’ve seen for the same versions, as most games now will have a “Deluxe” version, with extra or exclusive content.

If that’s the case, and the higher price is for the deluxe version, see what it offers, for a game that came out in 2022 I’d expect it to have some DLC and extra  missions/quests etc.

Compare the cost of buying the cheaper version (without DLC), and buying the DLC separately, to the deluxe price.

It’s usually cheaper getting the deluxe tbh.

If none of that applies, then check reviews for the cheaper vendors, and if you’re happy, fill your boots.

Cheers, just double checked and there was a drop down box for a deluxe version that shot up to the same price as elsewhere

Fuck me, he likes a cutscene does wor Kojima

I’ve just got back from burning the President, does the gameplay open up or is it 10 minutes play, 40 minutes cutscene all the way?

Amazing looking game btw.

I haven't played it but if MGS is anything to go by, you're basically better off viewing it as an interactive film

Aye, I reckon I’m an hour and a bit in, had like 10 minutes of actual play.

The cutscene are very well done, graphically and dialogue wise, but if I wanted  a sci fi movie I’d watch one.

This had better get cracking soon.

It’s very story/narrative heavy. The game play opens up a little but not by a great stretch.

The story is incredible though and once you’re invested it proper sucks you in. The ending broke me completely tbh. I don’t think anything else has gotten me like that since the dog goes to sleep outside the pizza shop in that one episode of futurama
