 I didn't see that coming and there's no way to walk back that statement, so I shall, like all good men, accept the abuse I'm to receive safe in the knowledge I've never had a failed take off.

but well done sir, well done :hi:

I didn't come on here to start a "our support is better than your support" debate! I couldn't care less to be honest. I was just putting that poster straight on the facts. I find supporters of all clubs I drink with all over the country to generally be decent people. Ours are no different.

Every league game has sold out at the Etihad this season, but don't let facts get in the way of any ramblings :blush2:

That Bluemoon site and that thread is mainly just kids getting 'giddy'. I can assure you that the majority of City fans are not wankers and certainly not arrogant. We've been through enough shite to really appreciate what we now have. We're on the cusp of winning our first title since '68 and if you were in the same state you'd be feeling exactly the same way - excited and nervous beyond belief. Anyway, I enjoy our trips up to your place and this weekend won't be any different. Bring it on. See ya Sunday lads.

Well they must have loads of no shows then. Plenty of empty seats at the Man City v Newcastle game this season, we were singing about it during the game. Plenty of empties at most games I've seen on the tv as well.

And the crowd for the League cup semi final was a disgrace for a so called well supported team

 I wouldn't take it to heart mate.

While you're here, which board do you come from and would they answer a survey?

I'm too long in the tooth for that mate! I don't post on any particular board anymore. Bluevibe is probably the best one but a more mainstream one like Bluemoon wold be your best bet to get a survey done.

I wouldn't be massively worried if we lose this game. Tottingham have two hard games imo, VIlla have been hit and miss this season, but at Villa park anything could happen. And Fulham on the final day of the season is a nightmare fixture. Even though its at home, Fulham have had some scalps including us and Chelsea this season. I could see Tottingham drawing both games. So a win at Everton would see us right.

Well Villa have been almost exclusively miss to be fair. Their home record this season is the worst in the clubs history.

There won't be one Man City fan in our end, it amazes me who they think they are, and who they think we are. Any away fans in the Leazes or Gallowgate  and if they are they'll be keeping a lower profile than Gary Glitter in the nick.

me and 4 mates joined your membership at the turn of the year. We are in the Leazes end. Won't be wearing colours or being nobs but can assure you that we won't be the only City fans in you end. There are also a group of 10 I know who booked a box a while back.

You paid £40?

Bollocks mate. Why wouldn't you just get them in your own end so far in advance'?

Shouldn't Stevie do the city survey? He's seems to have developed a real rapport with them.

What the players are saying.........

Tiote

CHEICK Tioté believes Sunday’s crunch clash with Manchester City is the biggest of his Newcastle career.

United’s Ivorian enforcer (pictured right) has brushed off his Wednesday clash with Jon Obi Mikel as “nothing” despite requiring stitches and being carried off on a stretcher with an oxygen mask strapped to his face.

He is ready to play against Roberto Mancini’s title chasers and has promised United will do “everything” to secure a win which would keep the heat on their Champions League chasing rivals.

Tiote said: “City are a great club and they have too many good players.

“It is going to be a hard game for us, but we will do everything to win.

“It is a huge game for both clubs, the biggest game for Newcastle since I have been here.”

Confidence will be key for United as they go in search of another huge three points.

At times Newcastle did not seem to believe they could live with Manchester City in the Etihad Stadium clash earlier this season, but there will be no such concerns on Sunday.

United have proved themselves capable of living with the very best in the Premier League and, with Papiss Cissé looking so lethal, that belief hardly looks misplaced.

Tiote added: “I will be okay for Sunday. I am really looking forward to it.

“It is a really big game and we need to do everything to win.

“To beat a big club like Chelsea is a massive win for us. We have huge confidence now.”

Krul

TIM Krul has promised title favourites Manchester City an atmosphere to make them “crumble” on Sunday – as Tyneside gears up for Newcastle United’s biggest game since the Sir Bobby Robson era.

Having eliminated Chelsea from the Champions League race with their stunning raid on Stamford Bridge, United are now involved in a three-way tussle to claim two potential spots in Europe’s elite club competition.

With the Magpies fifth at the moment, Krul admits the Champions League and its potential £30million jackpot feels “so close” to the Newcastle players.

However, they will need to beat league leaders Manchester City – themselves gunning for their first title since 1968 – to maintain the pressure on north London rivals Tottenham and Arsenal.

Tyneside has played host to a fair few big games since Sir Bobby’s departure in 2004, but none of this magnitude at the top of the table.

Edging into the Champions League could change the entire course of the club and will surely move United into a different bracket with their summer recruitment plans.

That sense of destiny is appreciated in the dressing room and on the terraces.

Krul predicts Newcastle supporters will create an “electric” atmosphere for City’s millionaires, who are themselves flying high following their Manchester derby win on Monday.

The Dutchman said: “What a feeling it was to walk away with a 2-0 win at Chelsea. The confidence is back and bring on City.

“Two games to go and one point off the top four – it is incredible.

“It is so close now. We are still in the running and at the start of the season we could not have dreamed of being in contention for the Champions League at this stage of the season.

“It is going to be electric on Sunday at St James’.

“We have had Man United and Sunderland and I am sure the fans will generate the same atmosphere as they did in those two games. That will make teams crumble hopefully.” Home advantage is a consideration ahead of Sunday, but Newcastle’s optimism is based on the form of key players – not least the brilliant Papiss Demba Cissé, who scored a goal of the season contender in stoppage at Stamford Bridge.

Krul hailed him as “world class”, admitting he could scarcely believe the strike which sealed the 2-0 win in west London.

Cissé now has a breathtaking 13 goals in 12 games. Krul said: “I have seen his second goal on TV and it is incredible, absolutely amazing.

“Ryan Taylor came close with one like that at the start of the season, but to be that tired at the end of the game and to do that from out on the touchline was something special.

“City are a fantastic team.

“They beat us 3-0 at their place.

“They have fantastic players.

“However, as long as we are solid we have Papiss and Demba up front and Hatem who can make things happen.”

After their wonderful Wednesday, United can also see a path into third place – having sliced Arsenal’s advantage to just a point.

Third could be crucial if Chelsea win the Champions League final against Bayern Munich and snatch the slot normally reserved for the fourth-placed team.

Krul insists those concerns are out of the window as United look to take care of their own business first. He said: “We are not looking at that. We were looking at Wednesday and at Sunday, two huge games.

“Nobody expected us to get anything at Chelsea, but we have proved everybody wrong after a big upset on Saturday at Wigan.

“We came back fighting and the team spirit is where it’s been all season. It is an incredible feeling.

“On Sunday we will do the right things that we have been doing all season and if we are solid we can hit them on the break.”
