TicTacWoe 0
Another upside of Woy getting the job is that he won't have any allegiances to the players as no one (apart from Foster if he comes out of retirement) from West Brom or his old Fulham squad will be getting called up. Managed Gerrard for about 5 minutes so that doesn't really count either in the same way that Harry may have favoured Spurs players had he got the job. Christmas Tree 4722
Not really a bloke to inspire but I guess I thought Keegan would be great at getting the best out of players. I think it matters little who is in charge as we usually do shite.
Lake Bells tits 1
Of the english managers, I think he is one of the better ones - albeit very uncharismatic. Cant really see champagne fotball on the horizon though.
Lake Bells tits 1
Oh btw, he speaks FLUENT norwegian from his time in Viking! Very amusing to hear him speak it, quite an accent Gemmill hadde likt det hvis han snakket norsk, han er lett å tilfredsstille Edited April 30, 2012 by Lake Bells tits

Meenzer 15480
What does that say like? I think he's saying you'd have liked hearing Woy speak Nowwegian if you understood the language, because you're easily satisfied. Maybe he knows something we don't. 2bias 3
I'm please with this. Never wanted Redknapp. Been saying to my mates all along look at what Hodgson has done over the years and it's good to see the FA not bow down to media pressure. More than qualified, Remember he had Switzerland ranked 3rd best in the world at one point.

Happy Face 29
Not particularly, and if you look at Redknapp and Dalglish over their full results, they're much better. I only looked because i was chatting to a scouse mackem about the patience being shown to Dalglish and I assumed his recent form was much worse than the form that got Hodgson sacked so soon at LFC....but then it also worked to show he's doing better than Redknapp recently too. Gemmill 44624
The fact that Hodgson has experience of international tournament football is a canny big factor IMO.
Happy Face 29
That...and I'd imagine there's some at the FA who would be nervous about Redknapp's shady dealings coming under the spotlight again.
Gemmill 44624
Oh absolutely. They may well know that there's more to come. There's no room for learning on the job with England though, so the fact that qualifying for, and going to, an international tournament is old hat for Hodgson is good news IMO. manc-mag 1
He's quite likable and the players are a bunch of cunts, so it takes the edge off for me. Redknapp would have had the opposite effect from an enjoyment point of view. I don't expect us to win it or even compete so I'm happy to watch it with my mind in neutral and anything's a bonus. From a footballing perspective, theres some good points been made about his prior tournament experience and the fact we're not good enough to play possession football anyway in key games, so his mid-table counter attacking mindset might work to our advantage. luckyluke 2
Bold move by the FA. In a footballing and financial sense Hodgson is the right pick. In a political/image sense Redknapp would have been the right choice - despite his dodgy dealings/trial. The thing is, I doubt (hope I'm wrong of course) that the footballing advantage will mean much with the players we have - as others have said although it would be great if we used this tournement to blood the next generation, Hodgson has come in too late to really force that - he could do it anyway but I just don't see that happening - so we're stuck with Lamps, Rio, JT Stevie G etc. We'll get to the quarters perhaps before being torn a new one, the media will crucify Hodgson, force his sacking and denying him the chance to rebuild. It might have been more prudent to let the media have their way and have Redknapp take the poisioned challice of the tournement then bringing Roy in afterwards. Gemmill 44624
It's quarters straight out if the group at the euros, isn't it? Or is there more teams in it these days?
