The carling cup game? I barely remember it but it was a reserve team showdown was it not? the 3-4 game.

Few top teams give a fuck, it was liverpool vs Cardiff in the final ffs

Well, at least Hatem Ben Arfa vs Ashley Cole should be interesting.

A.Cole, basically the father of the expression " For every gorgeous girl, there is a guy out there who is tired of banging her"

Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United x 3 , Chelsea & Tottenham are the last 6 or 7 finalists.

What's the difference between these teams and Newcastle?

Chelsea will have one eye on the two cup finals, and that will work in our favour tonight.

Players wont risk injury tonight, no matter what they say.

Ask any Chelsea player or fan, what would they rather have 4th place or winning the thing ?

Mags to sneak a draw.

The same way they had one eye on the two cups vs QPR? They are brimming with confidence now, grasping at straws tbh.

I fancy the league more. Its more telling in terms of squad quality. Any mug team can have a good run. Talk to a level-headed liverpoolfan and they will admit cups pale compared to a good league position.

Colo has canny pace tbf. Williamson is 1/4 snail though

Coloccini doesn't really have any pace - that's why he plays a sweeper role. He's a class defender, but if he's starting from the half way line, most strikers in the PL will beat him in a sprint.

Especially since the cross section of Liverpool fans from the Gone Fishing seemed to say that whilst League Position is important, so too is winning trophies.

I'd be delighted to win the league cup even though it obviously is micky mouse by comparison to the other competitions available. That said if we were offered the choice of a shite season finishing 15th but winning the League cup or the trophyless season we've just had I'd pick the latter.

I think I'm with you there. I can look back on quite a few brilliant games over the last couple of seasons. Liverpool fans can't do that at all. They've stumbled through to the final and won on penalties against a Championship side.

Everyone I have talked to want kenny fired regardless of outcome this weekend.

Yes but how often is that an issue. He is very fast off the first 10-15 yards and thats enough in 95% of all cases. You rarely have 50 yard dashes with Theo Walcott on the other side.

thatd be the case if you weighed up strikers and CBs though

for a centre back Colo has a decent level of pace
