Pilates - Anyone done it?

Due to having a completely ruined back the physio I went to see recommended I do Pilates. Now being a man I decided that was a stupid suggestion and I'd just wait for it to get better - which sadly it didn't so eventually I decided I'd give it a go.

I've been to 2 classes so far and thought it'd be a waste of time, and that seeing as middle aged women seem to do it then it'd be piss easy. I was wrong!!!

It's not so much that it hurts at the time (it does a bit), but the fact that I am dying for about 3 days after!

Has anyone else done it and also suffered the post class aches, pains and stiffness?

I'm the same Stevie. Can't touch my toes. But it's mainly for your core. Your sides and stomach ache for fucking days when you first start, but you soon notice the difference in your posture etc.

I might need some other form of exercise apart from running as I just seem to be picking up niggles and injuries which are limiting me, (the latest being an old hamstring injury from football). Can't stand gyms though so something you can do in the house or out and about would be handy.

Aye I've done it before. The pain builds slowly and feels like you've been in a car accident. I might give it another blast actually.

Haha yeah thats the feeling I have just now!

If anyone's a member at FX on the Team Valley then the class is on a Monday at 7pm... feel free to come along as I'm totally outnumbered by women (not fit so it's not a good thing). I'm the only bloke there apart from some gay guy who looks like the blonde dude from dumb and dumber!

Did it twice and, like you, was fucked for a few days after. Felt like my hamstrings were going to snap. I'm sure the pain gets better once your muscles are used to it but I fucked it off after two attempts and a few days walking round like Albert Steptoe.

Haha aye I know that feeling! Thing is that although it's to develop your core muscles it works pretty much every single one in your body, so for me it's wrecked my bad upper back due to some of the things I had to do.

I'm just hoping that in a few weeks I'll be a little stronger and more used to it so that I don't feel so bad after... I mean I went on Monday and I'm still sore as hell today!!!
