Could be a good way of keeping Liverpool from strengthening, get him only interested in us, play it down to the wire and then pull out when they dont have time to do anything about it. Means they keep him, he gets cheaper and they dont get to replace him with someone better suited to Rodgers' style. Spurs may be waiting for the Modric money and Liverpool the Carrol money. Its just a case of who is the most desperate and who cracks first. As long as Carrol plays hard ball with a move elsewhere then I could see a deal being reached around 15 Million this week. Still a good price for a young England forward, however still not sure how we would fit all three in. We struggle with fitting Ba in, let alone Marveaux and Jonas now that Anita har arrived. I was reading an article last night where Liverpool have apparently told him to get his future sorted this week or spend the season on the bench as they won't let him join us on the final day, he's turned down West Ham, Fulham and Villa apparently. Barton fucking off to France too.....we've gotten rid of all of the trash over the years (though I still rated Bassong when he left) and we've replaced them with class footballers and class individuals. There are a few players that have hot heads (Tiote and Cabaye come to mind) but they aren't jailbirds and disgraces like Barton.
