maggiespaws 0
I need to book a table at a good restaurant in Newcastle and need some suggestions please (its a while since I ate in town). Its for my parents as I've booked tickets for a gig at the Metro Arena. Not particular preference although Italian, Indian & Chinese are favourites. Any suggestions or recommendations form anyone? JawD 99
Nudo is one of my faves. Relaxed and low key, not a classy joint but great food (noodles)
JawD 99
Blackfriars is decent for a more traditional type of place

catmag 337
Strada is canny for Italian too.
Dr Gloom 22143
I used to like the Dragon House for Chinese, Sachins for Indian and Francesca's in Jesmond or Mario's in the bigg market for Italian. Fuck knows if they're still the places to go. I didn't recognise a single boozer or restaurant last time I was home. Cafe 21 is (was) canny if you fancy something a bit more up market. The Fish 10963
Two places on High Bridge that might float your boat: http://www.dabbawal.com/ http://www.paniscafe.co.uk/ Panis is excellent. Quality Sardinian food, reasonable price, good wine. Decor is a little basic, but it doesn't matter because the service and the food are both superb. Fregula, that's the tiny balls of pasta, isn't it? Never really fancied them Last time Iw as there I had the Pollo Lelo or Lillo or something... Bloody gorgeous. ajax_andy 0
Am surprised there's been no shouts for 'Woosa' on Clayton street! It's a recently opened Thai / Malaysian restaurant (where Black Door used to be) and the food is amazing! Probs the best restaurant I've eaten at in Newcastle Also other recommendations would be: Dabawall as mentioned by Hank Little Saigon (Vietnamese) in the Big Market El Coto (Tapas) next to the Hyena Comedy Club
Alex 35571
Might give that Thai/Malaysian place a shout, Andy. Cheers.

Nice one mate... dunno if you like Calamares but if you do then they do the most unbelievable starter there - easily the best Calamares I've had in this country. I've noticed it when I got to the Bacchus for a post match pint Yeah that's the place... food is excellent and the service is top notch too. I didn't really notice the difference between this and a standard indian because I just got a starter and a curry (both excellent) but I think you can do a tapas kind of thing with the menu which makes it more street food like.
