Newcastle plotting move for Sigurdsson to thwart Swansea's hopes of permanent deal

By the sounds of things I reckon that the club will have set a maximum that they feel the player is worth and won't budge on it. Which makes sense really, a £5m player is not suddenly worth £8m just because another club is interested.

Would love him here. I always wondered whether he'd be able to keep up the form he had in the Championship on the bigger stage, but this season he's probably been the reason Swansea havent been sucked into the relegation battle.

I think it would depend on whether we continue with the 4-3-3 formation we tend to play now and if Guthrie does leave. Plus as has been said the lad looks a danger from set pieces and has got good delivery, something we've been alcking as I cant remember the last time we scored from a corner and i think we've only scored twice from direct free-kicks.

What? If 2 clubs are willing to bid against each other then yes, that does make the player worth abit more.

In the transfer market sense, not your own valuation. If you think something is worth a fiver, you're not going to pay a tenner because someone else wants it, especially if there's other options.

I reckon Zingarevich might actually splash the cash on The Sig in the summer - he would more likely link up with McDermott than Rogers seeing as McDermott had him as a first team regular.

Of course any club a step higher than Swansea and I reckon he'd go for it.

Be interesting to see how we fare in a head to head scrap for a player that another Prem side wants.

We've flown under the radar and got people in with seemingly no one else showing an interest of late, but this should give us some idea of how our new structure sits in comparison to other clubs. Even if it is "only" Swansea - maybe it's more interesting that it is only them.

Gylfi won't be on mega money. Think 35k or so will be enough.
