ewerk 31195
By the sounds of things I reckon that the club will have set a maximum that they feel the player is worth and won't budge on it. Which makes sense really, a £5m player is not suddenly worth £8m just because another club is interested.
StoneColdStephenIreland 74
Would love him here. I always wondered whether he'd be able to keep up the form he had in the Championship on the bigger stage, but this season he's probably been the reason Swansea havent been sucked into the relegation battle. I think it would depend on whether we continue with the 4-3-3 formation we tend to play now and if Guthrie does leave. Plus as has been said the lad looks a danger from set pieces and has got good delivery, something we've been alcking as I cant remember the last time we scored from a corner and i think we've only scored twice from direct free-kicks. Monroe Transfer 0
Good news for Hoffenheim either way. They keep him and they've got a good in form player, they sell him and they'll induce a bidding war and make a profit.

If 2 clubs are willing to bid against each other then yes, that does make the player worth abit more.

If you think something is worth a fiver, you're not going to pay a tenner because someone else wants it, especially if there's other options. 2bias 3
He wont be on much at Hoffenheim, I think he would come here too.
rogerbarton 24
You're talking about chalk and cheese with us and Swansea to be fair. The only think that could tempt him to stay there would be their style of play if it particularly suits him I suppose.
Brock Manson 0
I reckon Zingarevich might actually splash the cash on The Sig in the summer - he would more likely link up with McDermott than Rogers seeing as McDermott had him as a first team regular. Of course any club a step higher than Swansea and I reckon he'd go for it.

Andrew 4856
Why Guthrie out 2bias? We're not exactly rich with squad depth and well have Europe next season too
Ayatollah Hermione 14047
Plus, I'd give Gosling a year out on loan so he can actually play some football. Barely played in 2 years and that can't be doing his development any good. Look what a year of constant playing in the Championship did for Guthrie. Park Life 71
Be interesting to see how we fare in a head to head scrap for a player that another Prem side wants. We've flown under the radar and got people in with seemingly no one else showing an interest of late, but this should give us some idea of how our new structure sits in comparison to other clubs. Even if it is "only" Swansea - maybe it's more interesting that it is only them. Gylfi won't be on mega money. Think 35k or so will be enough. Gemmill 46023
Ryan Seacrest going for a high five with that blind kid on American Idol remains one of the great TV moments of the last decade. Pards will get a similar reaction.
