Just watching C4 build up to the England game there. They had a bit of the usual football build up bigging up the NE and Newcastle as a football hot bed. Clichéd but, you know, quite normal. Thought I'd check what the fans of massive lads made of it.

Yep.

The amount of raging hard ons down wearside way in fevered anticipation of getting wound up by something someone might've said tonight was always going to happen.

Presenter: "And welcome to our England game here on channel 4 at St. James' Par....."

MLF: "Ah fucking knew it!! Right up theya mag arses alreddy!!!!"

I thought it was noticeable how little stick Pickford got the other night (probably because he was angling for a move here in his recent interview )

Remember when they applauded Townsend for 90 minutes straight when he played for England at their place whilst a toon player? Nah me neither.

OGS being clamoured for now because of his good manager record of relegating Cardiff and putting them into relegation form the following season before getting sacked.

He followed that up by being shite at Man Utd and leading them on a barren run without trophies except a losers medal in the europa league.

Aye, they’re down to three and I believe it’s the current St Mirren manager, the current Stockport manager and the ex-AZ manager. Not sure on the last one but since he’s out of work, he’s the one that’ll come in

I live near Stockport and have been to a fair few games since I’ve been down here. Dave Challinor would be a good manager for them, but much like Mowbray was a good manager for them. They will find a way to hate him and get rid of him.

I was gonna post this tweet last week, before Andrew de facto banned me, but it's been taken down now. It was surreal. A Mackem at the England match, surveying the crowd from I think near the NE corner, probably about 10,000 match attendees in his scope. He identified and zoomed into about 5 lads from a distance wearing Newcastle tops and of course started slagging them off for being gravy stained mags etc.

Now I didn't realise there was an unwritten rule if you follow England you are not allowed to wear club colours even at your home ground. But maybe there is because way less than 1% were. Who really gives a shit?

But who's the weirdo here. A lad in his 20s watching the match in a black and white top, or a person zooming in, filming them, slagging them off without their knowledge, and then posting it on social media? Of course, the fans of massive lads on RTG lapped it up.

Sad Mackem Bastards.

The original tweet appears to have been deleted, so I'm not sure what it's about, but the responses are as hyperbolically insane as we've come to expect.

What?

Not only are the mackems massive human rights supporters they care passionately about birds...apart from Magpies obv.

the thing is with this, if they were being sincere I'd actually have a shit load of sympathy with their stance. I think disturbing the nesting kittiwakes is a profoundly stupid and irresponsible thing to do and nufc/sela/the council should hang their heads in shame for going ahead with this when they have. genuinely.

that said, it's took three pages for one of the cunts to actually acknowledge that these birds are kittiwakes and not seagulls.

they're, white, got grey wings, yellow feet, predominantly live by the sea and the average mackem's primary concern is whether or not they're still virgins and do they spit or swallow?

I knew they’d get worked about that light show thingy and bring County Durham into it

You can see how fucked off tourists get like. They arrive for a nice day out on the quayside, walk to to the millenial Bridge, look at Google maps and say:

"Wait, what's this? That promotional material we got from the hotel lobby this morning implied that the Baltic was in Newcastle. But looking at this map, it actually resides in the metropolitan Borough of Gateshead! Which was once in County Durham! I'm absolutely fuming about this misrepresentation Barbara. "

I saw a bit of the light show on YouTube and thought it was a bit shit really, even a bit cringey in parts. That should be the mackem win right there, nothing else required. But no, they take it to a higher, (lower) plain.

Just watched a bit of it. Couple of thoughts:

  • The only reason I knew about it at all was because of the link to the mackem thread on here, so not exactly well advertised.
  • It looks cheesy as fuck, glad I did not attend. I would like to see one of the drone displays however which look quite spectacular on video, but I don't think they did that?
  • I don't get the issue with the kittiwakes*. They choose to nest on a relatively recent man made structure, below a road with thousands of vehicles passing overhead every day and above a vibrant tourist hot spot. This was at the Baltic, some 500 metres away. If they put up with all the normal chaos of the quayside, I fail to see what difference this makes.

* And although technically not sea gulls, still avian cunts.

this post was going so well till point 3.

as any mackem would be able to tell you their iconic co. durham landmark the baltic flour mill is home to approximately 193 pairs of breeding kittiwakes, each and every one of them ardent mlfs.

it's quite petty of you really not to acknowledge what is the most inland colony of kittiwakes anywhere in the WORLD just because it happens to be deep in mackem territory on the south bank of the tyne.

read this and feel your heart swell with pride.....
