Rayvin 6429
As an aside to the mackem sentiment there, I'm always amused by away fans protesting us like this (Palace had flags or banners previously?). As if they are going to do this sign thing but then pay money to a Saudi Arabian owned business for the sole purpose of watching their team play a game of football. It's a great example of why this whole outrage is manufactured tbh. If football fans felt so strongly about this situation, none of them would turn up to support their teams as away fans. And yet they all do, same as we support ours. Hell you could claim that if this was really so important to them they should be boycotting their home games against us too, since their engagement is a tacit endorsement of the regime.

strawb 4728
We are just rustling some jimmies imo. Everyone expected this to fail and it isn’t, fuck everyone else. Especially palace, with their singing section, band and manufactured “derby” with Brighton. Also Norwood is a fucking dump

They don't see the matches like that though, they see it as a platform in the public view to voice their disapproval of the Saudi involvement in our club. A similar argument could be made to those who supported our club and consistently attended SJP, sometimes protesting about Ashley's ownership. Could be argued their engagement was a tacit endorsement of his ownership.
Gemmill 52205
One of the biggest cunts I've ever worked with was a Palace fan. Not long after he left someone totally by chance came across a clip of him on one of those "away day wanker" type twitter accounts, where they curate footage of dickheads in the crowd. This prick was offering everyone in the home end out for a fight.

Not protesting nation states, not endorsing them, not any of that - it's just about watching football. My issue in that post wasn't that I think they should boycott it, it's more that it should reveal to them why we don't.

I've had a few give me the whole "do you still support them given who owns them?" It's dealt with simply - "Would you hand over the involuntary love you have for your football club on the basis of who, outside of your control, has bought them?" Of course they wouldn't. The basis for all the NUFC fans should boycott the club ownership has foundations entirely in jealously. They all want to be in our position, what a fucking shame for them they're not. 3
Kevin Carr's Gloves 4347
Crystal Palace are a real makem club, they aren’t really a part of London and their “rivalry” with Brighton is entirely manufactured. Like makem’s being part of “Durham” and their “rivalry” with coventry.

I like coventry me, hone of some fucking epic two tone/ska music from the late 70s/early 80s. know quite a few really sound blokes from there who literally haven't got a clue as to why some non entity, backwater shit hole from somewhere near newcastle hate them so much. that said, they've been happy enough to embrace it and they've been regularly kicking the shit out of mackems in the midlands and north east for the last 20 years. 1
Howmanheyman 37764
I'd say Palace are similar to Boro in the not having a proper rivalry stakes. We don't want them, the mackems aren't arsed and neither are Leeds.
