Alex 35095
If I ever begin to feel sorry for them I just think about what it would be like if the situation was reversed. They were absolutely unbearable the last two times we went down. I fucking love seeing them like this if I’m honest Edited February 10, 2022 by Alex 6

ewerk 30626
The owners need the deluded mob to continue to think of themselves as a PL side. The moment the penny drops that they're just a slightly above average League One side then that's when the attendances start plummeting and they're really in the shit.

All this happening whilst we realise our wildest dreams as the front piece for an evil regime. YES PLEASE 1

Nothing will outdo 2009 when they survived relegation but only started celebrating the moment the realised we'd gone down. Utter cunts. "6 in a row" was fucking tedious as well.

But equally, imagine our team of superstars versus their League One side in years to come, in some kind of cup game. That could be fantastic too, just watching them tie themselves into knots in advance of it, the fear setting in, etc. They'd be talking up how classy they were as some kind of insulation about the utter devastation that would be about to befall them, remembering that "it's still 6 in a row in the league though marra". Then we rock up, play the youth side and win 5 or 6-0. As a result the fans call for the manager's head, hire Jermain Defoe, now in his 50s, for a third time - he plays 60 seconds per game for the rest of the season and they have to re-mortgage the stadium to afford him. He does score though as the ball ricochets off his zimmer frame to achieve a consolation goal in a 7-1 home defeat to Burton Albion, a team that now has twice the attendance that they do. They can get promoted after that

Howmanheyman 33263
Forgot to add from last night when I heard BBC Newcastle going on about them. Their main commentator, 'Barnsey' plus Gabbiadini were talking about how their stand-in doesn't really want the job then I heard him interviewed......he really doesn't want it, like sounded like a bloke just trying to get on with it but saying stuff like the players apologised but they don't need to apologise to him, admitted their confidence is shot and had no answers it was up to them, said he understood the frustration about not playing Defoe but said he's 39, has played about 19 minutes in over a year and they had a duty of care to him as he might harm more than just his football career if they just put him on basically implying he's an ex-pro in all but name. He sounded resigned, demoralised but just as importantly he shares this feeling with the players who are obviously shiting it. Factor in the fans who are either chucking it or doing their usual mental approach to dealing with their situation then it's a match made in heaven! (And I haven't even mentioned Methvin and the rest who were at their game who are plainly useless/chancers added to the fact they've just been beaten 6-0 then had two consecutive defeats to famous British racecourses. Happy fucking days).

Make no mistake, I'm looking forward to the ambitious journey PIF will take us on, but you never forget your roots. The NE derby is steeped in tradition and something that transcends football - the rivalry between the two clubs is the most visible remaining representation of the generations-long political battle between the two cities. Else the next thing you know we'll be signing up for the European Soooooper League! The local derby is an important part of a football season. In its absence something is missing.

Craig 6682
Following on from investigations into the conduct of Kurt Zouma, authorities are now reviewing allegations that 11 men from the Cheltenham area have given some black cats a good kicking recently. Allegedly there's video evidence and almost 6,000 witnesses.
