The mackems are the miserable Grinch, who just can't comprehend why the whos in whoville are happy despite Xmas being stolen. Of course, in the book the Grinch finally gets it, that's more than the mackems ever will. I had a quick read of SMB while thinking about @@Renton's Grinch metaphor and it makes so much sense. They're at maximum rage that we're not in the meltdown they want us to be! Mark my words Rava, there is only one way out, you will be sacked by Feb!!!!! No return to the prem, crowd attendance down to 20k, no money, great cup run, third round losing to Burton in the cup at Home......looking forward to some great laughs this season..... I know plenty of mackems and talking to them day to day about things other than football, they're mostly quite a normal bunch. But get them together as collective where football is concerned and they completely lose the plot. Their obsessions are just completely incomprehensible to me.
