Well there's no law against it and the police seemed happy enough for him to play on so I can't see any action being taken by anyone.

It would be nice though if someone in the m(ag)edia called them out for what they are though. I'm not sure if they will be waiting for the verdict before publishing opinion pieces.

This changes everything like. The club knowingly played a nonce. Sorry, I can't agree that most clubs in that position would have done that, it's pretty much unprecedented disgusting behavior from the classy club. And it now appears they are simply going to pretend it never happened. There needs to be an investigation imo.

Yup.

I couldn't believe an entity that is in the public eye as much as a Premier League club, would risk knowingly having a confessed nonce represent them on a global stage. I was sure he must have lied to the club and they played him in ignorance. If they knew that he was to plead guilty to sexual activity with a child and to grooming, they should have sacked him on the spot! Disgusting that they put Premier League survival ahead of everything else.

I love how on the Smb there is complete self-censorship on this issue, even though it's in the public domain. Here's a snippet from a thread that hasn't been deleted yet:

"Best thing the club can do is the same as this board is doing. Airbrushing him completely from history and sticking the head in the sand."

Classy.

Aye it makes the move to sack him look odd as it's nothing they haven't known for months so why do it now? Of course he fully deserved the sack but as I say it should have happened months ago if they saw what he did as grounds for termination of his contract.

Johnson directly contributed 4pts to their 14/15 season. Hull finished 3pts behind them. Worth a cheeky appeal? ;)

With their diminished eyesight from all of the inbreeding they'll never be able to read that Fish.

It's half term isn't it?

They'll all be lurking round wherever it is juvenile mackems roam.

What the club should do is apologize unreservedly for their gross error of judgement and make a significant donation to an appropriate children's charity.

And the fans should get their heads out if their arses and accept their club is no more 'classy' than any other.

If this had happened here, not a single person would be defending the club or automatically assuming they weren't involved in wrongdoing. Admittedly, that's because we're well aware were owned by shit bags, but still, they have the nerve to call us delusional...

Does that really bother you? I always pitied them for it. It'd be like Norwich crowing about having the best goal music, or Crystal Palace saying they've the best cheerleaders.

Sounds like he planned on pleading guilty all along but knew he was going to deny it until the last minute on the advice of his lawyer/club lawyer? SAFC sounding more and more complicit in this. Wouldn't be surprised if Jonhson knew he was going to be sacked 12 months ago

Comes to something when a club can put Ashley in the shade for cuntiness
