thank you !!

why cardiff doesn't qualify ?

Cardiff is the capital of Wales. The Welsh aren't allowed to play football in Europe, under an agreement reached between Mrs Thatcher and President Mitterand in 1985. They are allowed to play rugby however.

Although I remember when they played (and eventually lost) to Portsmouth in the FA cup final a few years back they said that they would be allowed to play in europe if they won, that special dispensation would be made.

Finishing the season in sixth place would be such an excellent achievement that I wouldn't be too bothered about not getting a European spot. Given the indication by the club that will be looking to improve the quality of our bench (and presumably first team) by reducing the overall size of the squad I don't feel that we'll necessarily have the depth to add Europe to our scheudle without advesely affecting us in the League and domestic cups.

With that said, it really would be excellent to be back in Europe.

Only if special tribute was paid to the Parliament of Westminster (fifteen tonnes of leeks, four flocks of pedigree welsh mountain ewes, and Max Boyce's head on a pole)
