Baggio 0
Newcastle manager Alan Pardew is planning a double Dutch swoop in the summer. Pardew is finally hoping to seal a deal for PSV Eindhoven's 23-year-old Holland international Erik Pieters who he has tried to sign in the last two transfer windows. The £5million-rated left-back is a close friend of Tim Krul, has made 10 appearances for his country and will be part of the Euro 2012 squad. The Newcastle boss, who has already been linked with FC Groningen defender Virgil van Dijk, is also in the market for FC Twente's imposing Brazilian centre-back Douglas who has made more than 100 appearances for Steve McClaren's club. The 24-year-old defender, who also has a Dutch passport, has attracted interest from Tottenham, Liverpool, Ajax and Bayern Munich which has upped his value to around £6million. Read more: http://www.dailymail...l#ixzz1pw0uYQVi We've been linked with these 2 for a while now, I can see Douglas being the centre back that Pardew was prepared to wait until the summer for which is why he told Mariappa he wouldn't be back in for him. Christmas Tree 4821
Be interesting how the summer transfer business works out with players all joining up with training camps. Nice to do more Cabayes and get them in early.
SloopJohn 0
Be happy enough with both of those, Move santon to the right pieters on the left, Douglas is a big lump like, no nonsense centreback perfect for someone like Colo to play alongside, picks up a ton of bookings though so taylor would still get games. would love to get a quality RW or LW (preferably someone who can play both comfortably) in too. but I somehow doubt it. Baggio 0
A guy that writes on the Ligue1 site has done an article on the most wanted players in the French league and where he thinks they will end up. 10. Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, 22, Montpellier centre-back Despite his young age, the athletic defender from the Central African Republic has already played 160 league games and is club captain. Phenomenal in a one-on-one situation, strikers never get the better of the pacy and highly competitive stopper. Montpellier will be hoping the possibility of leading the club in to the Champions League next season will be enough to keep him on board. Strengths: Strong in the air. Fierce in the tackle. Anticipates well. Weakness: Still prone to lapses in concentration Valuation: €8m Who (reportedly) wants him? Lyon, Newcastle, Arsenal, Bayern Munich Where's he most likely to go? Newcastle http://www.ligue1.com/ligue1/article/spiro-blog-ligue-1-s-most-wanted.htm Edited March 24, 2012 by Baggio

toonotl 3106
Not really. 'Laspes in concentration' isn't as bad as no concentration at all.
JawD 99
Nah, if it was Boumsong it would include the line "no one would pay £1M for this bloke let alone £8m. Unless Graeme Souness, Willy McKay and RFC are involved then expect the unexpected".
